Donald Trump is planning to announce that Indiana Gov. Mike Pence is his choice for his vice presidential running mate, according to a Republican with direct knowledge of the decision.
As Trump narrowed in on his choice of Pence, the two men spent time at both Trump's golf resort in New Jersey in early July and at the Indiana governor's mansion this week.
In addition to testing the men's chemistry together, Trump was reportedly impressed with Pence's calm demeanor, his experience on Capitol Hill and as a governor, and Pence's potential to assist Trump in governing, should the ticket win in November.
The announcement will be made publicly at an event at Trump Tower at 11 a.m. Friday morning.

YAY!!!
BEST CHOICE FOR RUST BELT STRATEGY!!!
PUTTING PENCE ON THE TICKET AND HAVING GOVERNOR SCOTT WORKING TO DELIVER FLORIDA, TRUMP IS PLAYING ALL THE RIGHT CARDS!!
TRUMP/PENCE 2016 ALL THE WAY TO THE WHITE HOUSE!!
Trump doesn’t really have a social issues agenda though-—so in a way this kind of suits him
1) The warm up act can never surpass the headliner (first rule of show biz).
2) The warm up act must always support and set up the performance of the headliner, but never detract.
There are some people I’d like better, but the fact is, every single one of these veep candidates can be picked apart, or has weaknesses (otherwise, they’d be where Trump is).
He has chosen someone who will echo his lines, not distract from them like Newt. No, he’s not a firebrand like Palin-—but for every GOP voter Palin won, she turned off an indie.
Finally, I’m also convinced that Pence’s name was discussed in return for full support from the GOPe party apparatus. Now, a danger Trump had to consider was that some other names (even Newt, certainly Cruz) would have been so egotistical and ambitious that it would encourage an impeachment after Trump’s inauguration to install the new regent. I think Pence poses NO threat of that.
I don’t know him that well and don’t remember hearing him speak. He does seem to have a ton of experience though. And he is big time conservative.

Think it’s all part of the head fake to affect this:

I think this is true diversity—vision and boring. :-)
A British pence is worth 1.32 cents, which is less than the two cents this comment is worth.
This is possibly just a rumor started by Trump to throw the #nevertrump crowd into disarray.
RNC should jump on this. Just read where Indiana is in play for the Dems thanks to Bayh jumping in again for Senate. Maybe Pence can help swing it against Bayh.
Pence projects stability which is Trump’s weakness. Conservatives will like him and he does not have high negatives. He also has the right governing experience serving both in Congress and as a Governor. I think he was the smart choice.
Pence has never had one either, at least a values platform that he could defend and could stand up to scrutiny.
There you go again, clouding the issue with common sense and logic.
Here’s my repository of Pence background material including material on his home town. I remember his last radio program. I cried. Loved his message and quick wit.

They probably are based on “rumors” of Pence’s deputy campaign manager flying to NYC

I'll believe it when I hear Trump say it. Pence isn't a bad choice but I'm not buying it until Trump says so.
You and me both!
Given the way Trump is hated by everyone except the lowly conservative public...Pence could become President.
I really fear for Trump. He is going to shake things up. Remember when Kennedy tried to do that?
