He felt a member of the committee had an agenda

No agenda beyond pushing back against the Gayfia, I'll wager.

I’m an “evangelical” who has no problem with Trump on this issue. He stated that such issues should be left to the states; he is correct, given that the only Constitutional function of the federal government is to provide for national defense against foreign enemies.

I am not thrilled about the Pence selection because of what you said, but it is possible Trump knows something about Pence that we don’t. Trump has to worry about his VP being behind an assassination attempt; since he seems to want a politician as his VP, he is aware that 95% of the politicians want him dead.

I think he let Newt leak it last night on Hannity. Does the country really need two Pirates? Glowing praise of Pence....

I’m disappointed. He has a golden opportunity to avoid finishing.

I'm actually thinking the statement more has to do with the race there then his desire to 'finish' the term. As it settles out, he may reexamine that choice. I don't know the rules for succession in Indiana, but I'm sure that is a rather important consideration at the moment.

“Donald J. Trump’s campaign has signaled strongly to Republicans in Washington that he will pick Mike Pence, the governor of Indiana, as his running mate, though Republicans caution the party’s mercurial presidential candidate may still backtrack on his apparent choice”

Pence didn’t endorse Cruz, said he would vote for him, and very weakly on that as it was...

I think Pence will be ok, look at it this way, you might think about Christie being A.G.; Rudy over Home Land Security; Newt being Chief Adviser; and what Pence does, under the direction of Trump, will be okay...

Palin was the ONLY reason I voted for McCain. Before her announcement, I was determined that McCain would be the first Republican for any office, big or small, that didn’t get my vote in an election.

As it turned out, Romney received that honor, four years later.

“Pence does no harm. I can think of zero times I voted for the GOP ticket because I liked the VP and I didn’t like the Presidential candidate. ZERO!”

I can - McCain / Palin.

Hard to believe all these posters here after watching and listening to Trump for how many months and they still question his judgement!

Sad. This is the same ole Republican Party of doubters.

I am indeed an evangelical!

Go to my other post 173 for the story on Mike Pence's refusal to stand up for his claimed Christian values.

I have many evangelical Christian friends who live and operate businesses in Indiana!

They and the Indianiana legislature who passed the religious freedom act that was trashed by Angie's List and a few other high powered gay promoting businesses, were left hanging out to dry by Mike Pence.

I didn't say Pence is pro-gay, he just won't stand up for the values he claims, when faced with strong opposition!

Standing strong in the face of such opposition, may be extremely difficult for us but Pence had all evangelicals behind him and still caved!

Just sayin'.

I’m surprised it would be a governor. Trump has got the executive experience element wrapped up.

I see Pence as hanging in limbo. He’s not fully establishment/RINO, but many conservatives have written him off as squishy, so I don’t see what portion of the vote he brings to Trump that Trump needs. I think Trump wins Indiana in the electoral college easily, so it’s not like he needs the state. What gives?

Will never happen. And there’s no one he choose as veep that would be a better attack dog. As much I’ve disagreed with about Trump, no one can deny he’s the best and most effective attack dog. Plus, it’s who he is at his core. He’s 70 years old, so that part of him ain’t changing. Plus, it’s why so many voted for him.

He is a former big time radio talk show host. He is VERY quick.

Kasich was once a "big time" radio host too wasn't he? He sure turned out well.
