We are FOR it, and it is GOOD, because the more secular military is less Islamist than the corrupt politicians.

Reportedly, one of the first people Obama called on his ascension to the US Presidency was Erdogan. They've occasionally had their differences, but both are (IMHO) full-on Islamists.
Erdogan spent years replacing many of the top military officers with people he thought would be more loyal to him. And, so has Obama.

Not necessarily. Erdogan is an Islamist. The Turkish military have always been secularist.

It’s about time. Erdogan is a dictator and needs overthrowing badly. The military in Turkey, as usual, to the rescue to get rid of him, just like al-Sisi did in Egypt. Time to get rid of Erdogan, just like Egypt got rid of the Muslim Brotherhood jerk dictator, Morsi. Two down, more dictators to go, including ours, Obama, via the November election.
In the past, it was the military that enforced secularism in Turkey, keeping the mullahs out of politics.
I have no idea if that is still true.
