The Mr. Erdogan is considered a political strongman.

Turkey is a lost and totally screwed up place. It will become as deadly to the world as ISIS. Another Iran in the making. What is the matter with these fools.

Italian first newspaper Corriere della Sera opens their page with news on “Fake Coup?” in Turkey
https://twitter.com/tancredipalmeri/status/754295038646116352

Erdogan was extremely fast with this:

2745 judges have been removed by Erdogan, according to Turkish Tv.

Very suspicious.

Understood. But he may have had a wish list..

It would make sense for a fake coup attempt...but at this point I still think it is real, too many unexpected parts.

“The Mr. Erdogan is considered a political strongman.”

Correction:

Mr. Erdogan is considered a political strongman.

Yes, the swift response could be explained if Erdogan already had a list of opponents from the Hizmet-Gulen movement and that he planned to start a purge soon. The knowledge about the purge caused the coup by some in the military.

I’m leaning toward that explanation. All I’m certain of is Erdogan is a sharia loving, evil sob.

Yes I was wondering if some in the military got wind of a big impending purge and tried to pre-empt it with the coup. Because.....

1) there is no way a plan to conduct this vast judicial purge was developed in just a matter of hours, and

2) the coup doesn’t seem to have been well planned. It may have been a sudden desperate attempt....

Yes, it looks like that the only workable government in a Muslim country is a military regime.

Erdogan is turning into a Islamist despot, and the elected Morsi started to transform Egypt into a Sharia state, lucky he was replaced by https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abdel_Fattah_el-Sisi

This could get extremely serious. Erdogan blamed Washington for the coup. Aligned with the Muslim cleric in PA. And one can kinda believe some involvement considering what went on with the Orlando terrorists father and Afghanistan. Today they basically said they are at war with anyone aligned with that PA cleric. They will soon demand his extradition. Probably close US bases until we send them their Goldstein.

Shades of Iran taking hostages because we wouldn’t turn over the Shah.

Just like Obama, Erdogan is popular in the big cities. He doesn’t do fly-over country...rural.

Really? My impression has been that the people in the big cities are more secular....backwards, stone-age Anatolia (something like 90% of Turkish territory) is "Erdolf's" (from Adolf...) stronghold.

Would make sense until I read that the rebel modern cleric is somehow connected with Clinton. Then my heart sunk. Also read a rweet somewhere that the US has challenged Turkey to show evidence that the cleric caused coup attempt. That indicates a defiance against accusation.

It’s a freakin MESS...confusing alliances, sharia, tempers fired up, rage in streets...
