All he had to do was deliver a decent speech....give the nod to vote Trump, and he would have likely been offered a supreme court seat within four years by Trump.
When I first saw this video on youtube, which was a while back, I thought the same thing.
Her response of going ow, ow, ow as he moved in for the kiss made me think something isn’t right there. But I don’t want to think that, I really don’t, even though I can’t stand the guy, that is really the worst thing.
I thought about whether or not to mention this video on FR, but I decided not to. I ended up seeing it mentioned here by someone else eventually.
What I thought to myself was if this was my daughter, and I was running for president and she treated me this way in public or private, I would end my run for president immediately, because I have much more important concerns with my family that must be tended to right now.
That’s just me, I’m not speaking for Cruz, but if this happened to me, it would bother me tremendously.

Photos indicate that Ivanka was not happy with her dad for allowing Cruz to speak without an endorsement. I’m sure the family didn’t want him up there, while Trump knew Newt would clean it up and Cruz would hang himself. But boy was Ivanka pissed!
I had the same reaction back then. A person really doesn't want to entertain such a thought.
Frankly, it is too dark to even entertain now.
I choose to believe there is some other dysfunction at work.
Still, I would not be completely surprised if someday a book comes out from one or both of the daughters, when they become adults.
She inherited being on the Autism spectrum from her dad. Nothing more than that.
Like Jeb, he’s saying “You can applaud now.” Actually he’s saying “I’ll wait a few seconds to give you dummies a little time to figure out what I said.”
When I was channel flipping right after the end of the night there was a quote up (sorry I don’t remember where) on a screen saying that the RNC was saying Cruz switched speeches and didn’t give the speech he’d submitted. So I’m not sure what to believe about beforehand, but we all know what we saw and heard.
I will be delighted if that is all it is -- with sympathy to the daughter for having the condition, of course.
He delivered a decent speech, but he didn’t endorse Trump.
I’ve supported Trump since shortly after he announced, and some of Cruz’s behaviors over the primary season moved me from someone who could live with Cruz to someone who would likely never support him....
With all that said though, I honestly was not expecting an endorsement and I am not upset that he didn’t endorse Trump. His speech however was a decent speech, there have been far worse given in this convention, and will be far worse given in future conventions.
End of the day I think his lack of endorsement will not have any major impact on the general election, and the only one who’s going to be hurt by it will be Cruz in the short term... in the long term? Time will tell.
It’s the repetitive flicking gesture that makes me think that, combined with her dad’s obliviousness to emotion and social cues.
A guy on Twitter just posted screen shot if NEWT’S speech on the TelePrompTer that refer’s to Cruz’s speech and his “support” of Trump/Pence. Not absolute certainty, but seemingly Cruz changed the speech.

This video is a spoof of Cruz (bad lip reading) but watch it and note the many looks of disgust and eyerolling, from Heidi, they were able to extract from the original footage.
So, where was Trump standing, when that was snapped?

Yeah, you made a good point. Cruz seems to be Aspergers, which would explain a lot of his behavior, and would give a much less troublesome reason for the behavior of the daughter.
I’ve seen that video many times.
That’s where I got the phrase “Bogel for the Glotch.”
But you are 100% correct.
The fact that there is that much raw material is in itself disturbing.
And it’s disturbing to realize that you *know* it’s a spoof,
but you keep having to remind yourself of the fact because
it’s all believable and appears to be “in character.”
I’m still scared I might be Bogling my Glotch.
