As a New Yorker having lived in Texas, I can tell you, that expressed, visceral Texas hatred toward New Yorkers, while perhaps not held by a majority of Texas, is quite casually accepted. It was ugly to see it on stage last night, but very familiar to me

To me he’s more of an idiot savant....somebody w/ one great talent...but is otherwise intellectually vacant.
That is what was so awful - he went after the people, in his arrogant way he has. It really was stupid. I believe he has a personality disorder, BTW. He reminds me of some members of my family, who have destroyed everything in their path... think they are better than everyone else, rules don’t apply to them... Also think everyone else is wrong, that they are hated by all because people are jealous, or stupid.

For all of Trump’s mistakes, weaknesses, gaffes, etc, Trump has NEVER made fun of or attacked his supporters, or supporters or any other candidate - which is precisely why he’s the nominee. He attacks the candidates, not their supporters...and so those supporters moved over to Trump, as the candidates dropped out.
Cruz has done just what McCain did, and went after the people he made need in the future - except McCain was in a better position from which to attack. Cruz ended it all last night.

Or maybe he just has an ego the size of an aircraft carrier and cannot deal with losing.
Either way, not someone you want to wield great power, let alone a massive nuclear arsenal. He not only destroyed his 2020 chances (assuming a Trump loss AND that Hillary doesn’t suspend the Constitution by then), but he destroyed his political aspirations forever.
