Ted Cruz Is Readying for 2020
The Atlantic ^ | Jul 6, 2016 | Nora Kelly

Ted Cruz’s 2016 presidential campaign ended just two months ago. But his campaign for next cycle is already getting started.

According to a report Wednesday in National Review, the Texas senator is making big changes inside and outside of his Senate office to ready his political operation for a 2020 run. Cruz has been “conspicuously silent” recently, the report notes, but behind the scenes has “supervis[ed] the vast expansion of his electoral enterprise, integrating the operations of his campaign team,” and has instituted staffing changes to reflect his long-term goals.

Among them is Cruz’s decision to bring on a longtime Republican campaign operative—with no Hill-office experience—as his Senate chief of staff. His current chief is departing to work as a senior adviser to two new Cruz-aligned nonprofit groups

“What does it say when you stand up and say ‘vote your conscience’ and rabid supporters of our nominee begin screaming ‘what a horrible thing to say?’ ” Mr. Cruz said Thursday.

He’ll never succeed now that he’s burned his bridges. Sore Loserman for sure.

Cruz's behavior is a lot like Gore's in 2000, only worse. At least Gore could claim that he won the popular vote and lost the electoral vote by a sliver. Cruz wasn't anywhere close to winning either the popular vote or the delegate count. And Gore was trying to sabotage someone in a rival party, to whom he never pledged loyalty. Cruz is trying to sabotage a member of his own party, who he promised to support if he became the nominee.

Oh no, not the “secret army” thing again? It worked so well last time.

Agree 1005. He doesn’t belong anywhere near SCOTUS now that we know what a complete loon he is.

Ted Cruz is hated in the Senate and House.

His whole claim was that he was working “for the people” against the “Bad Guys” in Congress so he was disliked in Congress but had broad support with the American people.

Now he is hated by many of those American people who previously supported him , including me.

The guy is so ambitious he was already planning his 2020 Presidential bid and so he wanted to sabotage Donald Trump to run against Hilary in 2012.

He is clueless and delusional if he thinks he has a national political future.

He will be lucky to keep his Senate seat in 2018

In many ways, most notably overweening ambition and narcissistic self centeredness above all, Ted Cruz is the Hillary Clinton of the Republican Party

He needs to be tried for TREASON for attempting to usurp the presidency. If convicted, he should be executed.

He can try. He’ll fail. Conservatism is about integrity, and as Cruz has gone against his signed promise, he has none.

I was hardcore Cruz. Congratulations, Ted, I’m now #NeverTed.

Enjoy your retirement after your current term in the Senate is up. ..

Be a shame if Theodore were Cantored in 2018.

It would ruin all his plans.

2020? He still has to get reelected to the Senate in 2018. I have a hunch that a primary challenger to his 2018 reelection run is already in the making. Cruz is Toast!

“If Shitlery wins, she will legalize (and bring in) tens of millions of third world voters.
How does the holy roller weirdo Cruzhole expect to overcome those numbers?”

He will declare that he too was a citizen of another country and came to America just as they have done.

Cruz did not help himself last night by antagonizing a major block of Party voters. It was possible to thread the needle finely by promoting conservatism, demonstrating leadership and electability, and then pointing to Trump as the person “best able to implement these values in 2016”.

He didn’t.

Instead, he bought trouble.

That’s not just bad politics, it was deeply UNWISE. We literally pray for wisdom in our leaders, and Cruz failed that test last night.

I had a boss once who told me....make sure you’ll never need to cross that bridge again before you burn it. Cruz definitely doesn’t have that wisdom.

Ted Cruz lives in a dream world. He just committed political suicide last night. Donors are abandoning him. I will be surprised if he retains his senate seat. Cruz has no chance of ever becoming the GOP presidential nominee.

Four years of HITLER-Y will continue Obama’s eight year
“Alinsky Dream”. We cannot afford it, Ted Cruz’s ambitions
aside. Cruz broke his word. (I voted for Cruz in our
primary!) - NEVER AGAIN!!! Read my lips! . . and, unlike
Bush . . by god, I MEAN IT!!!!!!! I HATE THAT DAM*ED LYING!
