Rush doesn’t really impress me. Don’t get the cult-like following especially here on FR. People here should know better than to follow any man really. People here should know the great need of our time is for hearts to turn back to trusting God and not man.
It is possible that when God has carried us along doing something mighty, our egos find feet and walk us into regions of hell, leaving us vulnerable to despair.
It happened even with prophets. Elijah outdid the prophets of Baal, but then when Jezebel piped up with an impotent death threat, he mistakenly concluded that he was worth nothing. No, God’s plans were working. He wanted to allow Jezebel to keep living and raging for His own reasons. It was always about God; it never was about Elijah.
