Ted Cruz on Thursday strongly defended his refusal to endorse Donald Trump during his Republican National Convention speech, saying he's not "in the habit" of backing politicians who attack his family.

The Texas senator sensationally withheld an endorsement of Trump in his speech Wednesday, earning a chorus of boos from the floor while getting upstaged in a power play by the GOP nominee himself.

All those early critiques that he doesn’t work well with people — ( critiques I dismissed at the time, as I liked several of his policy positions) — those criticisms have now been borne out (Alas. )

I hadn’t even heard that one.

Cruz’s lies werent even devious or clever. He just ran around flipping all of Trump’s positions on everything—stuff that people were hearing from Trump’s own mouth every single day! It wasn’t just dishonest on Cruz’s part. It was psychotic.

"Cruz only hurt himself by his idiotic performance."

Didn't Cruz sign the pledge to support the nominee? Failure to follow through on a pledge exposes weak integrity. I once thought Cruz had a very promising future, maybe even Trump's VP then on to president. Lately, I think he next job may be in the private sector.

I posted this on the Cruz backers thread, but it works here:

Chiming in. Supported Cruz from the second Palin endorsed him for Senate. Then, all of a sudden, after two years of perfect ground game preparation, donor network establishment, and saying all the right things, he completely imploded just before the voting started.

Hooking up with that whack-job Beck.

Telling Carson supporters he had dropped out in Iowa.

Having that whack-job Beck issue the Oath of Office all the time.

Calling on Trump to release his IRS records, you know, the agency Ted said was tyrannical and he wanted to do away with.

Continuing to hang out with that whack-job Beck.

Releasing a tax plan that still required the IRS and added in the dreaded VAT.

Lying about lying on his SEC form regarding his Goldman-Sucks loan.

Claiming he didn’t know he was a Canadian citizen.

From all accounts, obviously having an affair with a campaign staffer.

Staying in the primary race well past his sellout-by date.

Did I mention hanging out with that whack-job Beck?

And for his final act finale, dragging on for more than twice as long as he was scheduled (just like a liberal) and never endorsing the candidate despite his signed promise to do so.

I now feel insulted by him lying to me for several years about who he was, since all these things reveal a character flawed to the core, and I’m so glad Trump had his mic cut last night.

This is spot on!!!

“Time to move on.”

As much as Trump might like to move on, he can’t seem shake this Cubanadian chihuahua off his ankle.
Cruz is the Energizer bunny of political stalkers.

Ted Who?

In 2 years if he decides to run for his Senate seat, he’ll be lucky to keep it.

He’s never going to be President.

Hope the check from the Bush/Clinton Cartel clears, Ted.

You are going to need it now that you are a radioactive pariah who will be bounced out on your ass come 2018.

You sociopathic narcissists never think we will figure you out, do you.

Yes the Cruz campaign ran ads saying Melania would be the first First Lady to have posed nude. And other even sleazier ads about Melania. Trump never once attacked Heidi Cruz, all he did was retweet an unflattering picture of her.

Dear Ted,

Multiple times you stated you would support the party nominee, even signed a pledge to that effect. Now you claim you feel justified to break that pledge because Donald Trump ‘dissed’ your wife and father.

Well Ted, that pledge was not a pledge to Donald Trump. It was a pledge to all the party’s voters. Are you so caught up in ego and pride that you break a pledge to the voters over a personal feud with a political opponent?

In the event you had been elected president, why should we not believe you might just walk out on negotiations with Putin because he said your mom’s cooking sucked or your voice sounded too ‘feminine’? Are the American people going to have to worry about how ‘dissed’ you feel?

You said on several occasions that Donald Trump was too thin-skinned, but as it turns out you are so thin-skinned that you are completely transparent. We now see right through you and your charade.

I only have 3 questions.

When is his primary?

Who is running against him?

How do I send that person money?

Let me add that forget everything else, no matter if you love Trump or hate his guts, if you are conservative you have to thank him for klieg-lighting every single Big Government Globalist weasel that has claimed to be on our side:

Cruz
Kasich
Romney
Rubio
McCain

...and the ENTIRE Bush clan.

Thank you Donald - Traitorous enemy now in plain sight.
