Well, it is an American Classic. Today we wonder if the man was aware of his blatant political correctness.

Sounds like they had to give up the Old Kentucky Home due to the hard times. Funny he should highlight the slave (or servant?) cabin as that bright spot there. Wonder what happened to the poor darkies when the Old Kentucky Home had to be abandoned or sold.
