“But why would a missionary - someone supposedly of good character - allow himself to be tied to this witch?”

Something worth contemplating. There are multiple reasons and some risks for Kane. I’ll let Limbaugh and others start the analyzing.

Thread’s title implies Kaine selected <~Reptillary’s running mate, ‘cuz she was too inept to select one herself.

“...devout Catholic ... personally oppose abortion...none the less pro choice...”

This is an oxymoron of course (directed at Kaine, not you). One cannot actually be a devout Catholic and then pull the lever in favor of an abortion law. “Catholic” CINO democrats such as Mario Cuomo and JFK himself were the ones who started this ridiculous concept.

True Catholic teaching is as follows: material co- operation in evil (abortion) makes the person culpable. So if this man were to sign off on any law promoting abortion he is in direct cooperation with a serious sin and DOES NOT GET A PASS. Kaine may think he gets a pass in his own mind, maybe, but not in reality.

Also - it is never licit to do an evil act for a “good” end. This is true Aquinas based Catholic philosophy - not some nonsense dreamed up by a Kennedy.

Good to see that Kaine is now purging some of the islamic radicals he has appointed in Virginia.

HRC’s VP selection is a Friday evening news dump? Did she really not want anyone to know about it?

Yes without a black on the ticket they will likely drop back to their normal past historic numbers. A “Hate-Whitey-&-BLM” themed DNC will help some but will likely run off as many white votes as it gains black votes. I don't see anything hear at all for Hispanics. I guess she bought into the media meme that Hispanics will overwhelmingly support her over Trump. I am not sure this really does all that much for Va, Kaine won Va because the GOP lost it. He didn't earn the win.

Tim Kaine accepted $160K in gifts as governor

Recall that former Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell was charged with corruption over $165,000 in gifts and loans while he was governor, although the conviction was overturned by the Supreme Court.

Trump will have a heyday with this.

I don’t know, maybe it’s just me, but isn’t it a little weird to announce a national office selection in “a text message to supporters.” And on a Friday evening...

This guy isn't that popular in Va.

What Does Bernie Sanders Think Of Tim Kaine? He May Not Support Him

Charles Chamberlain, the executive director of Democracy for America released a statement on Thursday that suggested Kaine would not be a good pick, considering “his vote for fast track authority for the job-killing Trans-Pacific Partnership and this newly uncovered push for bank deregulation.”

Given Sanders’ calls to break up the banks and reform Wall Street, Kaine doesn’t seem like a likely contender for Sanders’ support, either.

Clinton already has work to do to gain support from Sanders supporters, and it doesn’t seem like Kaine would be the way to go, considering his support for the TPP and for deregulating banks. Though Kaine’s base in Virginia will certainly help the presumptive Democratic nominee in the swing state, a more progressive VP pick might have done well to bridge the gap between moderate Democrats and progressives.

A Bloomberg Politics poll from last month showed that nearly half of Americans who voted in support of Sanders’ campaign — to rebuild the middle class, change the campaign financing system, break up financial institutions on Wall Street, and build a more socialized health care and education system — will not support Clinton. It would seem that choosing a VP pick to secure that vote would be especially important to her campaign’s success.
