A Dark Speech for a Dark Knight (Saturbray)

1 John 2:11 But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh indarkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darknesshath blinded his eyes.

There were two unifying speeches at the Convention which will go down as historic. One by the villain who everyone told if he gave it he would destroy his career and the other which made Donald Trump the overwhelming favorite to win in a tsunami of hardhats. One was a rant of pure ambition and anger while the other was born out of just anger. They both accomplished a unification of the Party and left one man standing and the other at the end of a rope dancing.

This convention by any measurement was a success. You have to be in awe of the level of rhetoric which was displayed. These were the people who have been ridiculed by the Establishmedia and for most that includes the Republican establishment. They have been hardened by fire and the speeches showed precision and flare. They all reflected what true Americans are thinking without PC censors and did not hide from the fact they are capitalists or any of the benefits which go with that capitalism. As great as Christie, Rudy and the Tarkington were, Donald Jr encompassed the passion of the conservative movement. He hit homer after homer after homer as he unabashedly laid out the real problems we are having. His delivery was outstanding and showed the future is bright if he wants to go that direction.

The theme was we can do much better. If you hamstring your economy with regulation after regulation and vilify your most important people you are going to end up where we are. This was not a bashing speech about how bad Obama and Clinton are it was a speech about how corrupt the system is. From the schools to Moscow on the Potomac the entire system needs to be purged. It’s just the first thing to purge is Hillary and the Clinton Family Laundry which he nailed all of. Don Jr mentioned he can drive a D9 and that is a much needed skill in DC since most of that city needs to be dozed and salted.

For as brilliant as everyone claims Ted Cruz is he sure hides it well. We have heard he is almost godlike in his conservatism by Beck, Levin and Rush but where is all of that intellect. He may have had book smarts although it is just as likely they were Affirmative Action smarts, but he really lacks in common sense. He is one of those eggheads who couldn’t pour piss out of a boot if it had the instructions printed on the heel.

After spending the entire time from his suspended campaign he and his army manipulated the convention and its delegates to steal the nomination. They had visions of grandeur same as the Paulbots they would win it with their delegates and start a coup that would get the rules changed allowing their delegates to start a resurrection sweeping him to victory. It was a fool’s errand and was squelched while looking extremely childish to the nation wanting to watch some great speeches.

The Trump children did not disappoint. They are extremely well schooled and attractive. Don Jr reminded us of what America was and what it could be again. He spoke of freeing the American dream and covered issues that have not been mentioned for fear of being called a bigot or greedy capitalist. He went to the heart of the Marxist machine and talked about kids locked in poor schools due to unions owning the politicians who are the real problem keeping these kids in the cycle of desperation with no path out. He talked about real issues and struggles which are affecting Americans and talked to their efforts to survive in this Obama/Clinton economy and how only his dad would begin to fix it.

Ted Cruz had to give his speech. This was supposed to be his acceptance speech after his army of adoring delegates executed his master plan. He had used his slimy lawyer skills to find the weaknesses in the rules to force a vote and allow the Trump delegates who were really his to vote Cruz and take it to a second and third vote where they could gather coalitions and steal the nomination. He was to arrive at this convention as a conquering hero and here he was entering the stage walking out to his adoring fans saving the Party from evil Trump.

When walking out to a stage that looks suspiciously like a gallows and there is a noose around your neck, don’t pull that lever next to you; it can be very destructive to your career. So he gave the worst speech of the night full of lofty bromides and short on anything resembling solutions. He gave it with his usual haughty attitude looking down on the lowly peons. Finally after going three times his time limit speaking at someone else’s celebration and pushing the Primetime speeches back he pulls the lever and is booed and heckled by the entire nation uniting the Party against Judas Cruz as he did the hangman's dance to everyone's enjoyment.

The very best speech of the week was by Donald Trump Sr. We had not seen or heard a speech like that ever. For all of the critics who said has not given solutions or was going to go easy on Hillary, he answered both of those questions in spades. He made the case of her corruption and incompetence point by point and event by event. He made the ultimate contrast between her and the Law and Order President and dug a canyon between them. There could not be a more stark difference to choose this election.

He then went into why this country is in the situation it is in. Don Jr was a preview to this speech as were all of the speeches, but he gave it with power and strength. He spoke to the fear people are having walking down the street or the anger we are feeling of watching cops killed by people who are being enflamed by our President and the DNC. He spoke to the inability to have an economy if you have anarchy ruling the streets and delivered it clearly and articulately. We have not had a candidate with verbal skills like his since Reagan and this was a Reagan speech.

After setting up the need for law and order he went into the economy and how to fix it. He spoke of money manipulation by foreign countries as well as the need to protect our borders. His border discussion was highlighted by the victims of Mexican criminals who have been allowed to roam freely and the lives they have taken and the pain of their families. He spoke to the inner city and how they are living in a rigged system just like the corruption he has been exposed to. Yes it was a dark speech, it was the truth about how dark America has been allowed to become and this week they with the Obamedia help are going to sell us darkness as light.

Best convention evah. It had everything including the villain who destroyed himself on national TV. That drama brought an extra million people wanting to see if Trump could withstand the pressure of giving the speech of his life. He not only gave it, it was the speech of all our lifetimes and set the bar for Hillary.

He articulated what America is about and why it can become the best it has ever been. Our generation has a chance to pass down to following generations a country which once again is the lighthouse for the world to navigate. The world is in darkness and needs America to show it how to shine the light of God's truth into that darkness. It needs to go back to her Christian foundation and once again become the incredible melting pot it once was. That is her strength. It is a lofty goal and will take time, but we finally have the Dark Knight willing to answer her call.

Pray America wakes

I hear Southern Baptist women say they won’t vote for Trump because he is “not nice” and “uses profanity.”

The issues mean nothing to these women.

It was obvious from the description of the speech by the MSM that the meme adjective was "dark" repeated by almost all of them. No doubt the DNC provided the talking points.

It is amazing that the Trump campaign slogan, "Make America Great Again" is somehow portrayed as being negative and not upbeat. Any negative criticism of the Obama administration and how it has transformed this country is viewed as "dark." Obama's record and Hillary's desire to be the third term of Obama are depressing and dark. Two thirds of Americans believe we are on the wrong track. Trump is shedding light on Obama's dark legacy.

It was dark, it was a description of the truth.

Yep, for the media “dark” really means “we’re upset that Trump is criticizing the results of Obama’s presidency”.

And of course the whole deal with Trump is that he fully intends to lift America out of the present darkness. But of course they choose to ignore that.

Great bray. And your observation that “it was a description of the truth” can be used to counter any comments of the leftists. Thank you!

Trump’s vision for the future is bright, the dark “vision” he’s described is what we have now, and most voters know exactly what Trump is talking about because they live these things on a daily basis, unlike the elite enemedia propagandists who keep telling us how wonderful everything is even though no one can afford medical care, mean family income is down $4,000.00 since obama took office, ISIS attacks innocents on nearly a weekly basis around the world, our manufacturing jobs have been sent to Mexico and China, illegal immigrants flood the U.S., bringing disease, violent crime and depressing wages, violent black-on-black crime in the big, Democrat-controlled cities is out of control, cops are being assassinated on nearly a weekly basis with the tacit approval of the Obama administration, and much, much more.

[btw, this “dark” meme the enemedia has been pounding on is nothing more than Rat talking points after Trump’s speech that they obligingly turned into “objective” articles.]

God put on a pretty good convention, but while He took a 20 minute break somebody let that consummate lying, establishment sellout, oligarch/asshole, Mitch McConnell speak.
McConnell, of course, is the Harry Reid Co-conspirator/ Majority Leader of the US Senate. God also took the day off on the day that cheap, sordid POS was re-elected to the US Senate. God was back on the job, however, when Matt Bevin was elected Governor of KY.

My point: Pray all you want, but prayer without work is pissing in the wind. “God helps those who help themselves.”

Get to work!

Good summary, thanks. As you point out I think Cruz should have been more specific about what conservatism means in terms of action. Trump is not consistently conservative, and perhaps we can nudge him in a better direction on some things. Cruz could have talked about that.

What shocked me the most was the day and Cruz talking about how it was strictly personal for him. No matter what your profession, even a politician, you cannot base your actions upon personal emotions.

Noticeably absent: Pictures of Trump supporters being egged and tackled.

I can't add anything more to the diaster that was Cruz's speech than you and others have already pointed out. I think this was a moment of jaw dropping self political destruction only witnessed a couple times in our lifetimes.

And finally, a candidate for President who will openly point out the incompetence and corruption of Hillary and her friends in the media. I am prayerfully hopeful that the electorate will agree with us and end any further hopes of the Clintons for political office.

No more PC, everyone knows who these despicable, murderous characters are and they have either been raised in a hate-filled environment or they have embraced it through their associations with other pond scum.

Cops are being killed by Black terrorists.
