Trump has a great quick video out that shows how of the “long” speech, 24 minutes (about 33% of the total) was applause.
Is that all you got from the excerpt? Many speeches are interrupted “for long periods with all the loud sustained cheering”.
Your article was more a homily to Ohio than a critique of the convention. You neglected mentioning some of the best speeches during the convention, but again, that was not your objective. Hugh Hewitt is one of Salem radio’s GOP-establishment propaganda hacks.
He’s been shading his opposition to Trump far more than his comrades Michael Medved and Mark Levin but don’t be deceived, he was at Sea Island with the rest of the Stop Trump plotters.
Hewitt tips his hand in this article with this:
“Mike Pence, Paul Ryan, Mitch McConnell, Scott Walker, Reince Preibus, Tom Cotton
These six GOP stalwarts are mainstream conservatives but managed to finish the dance with the Trump wing of the party with their principles intact and their speeches well-received. “
Other than Mike Pence these “mainstream conservatives” are GOPe hacks. Cotton has more people fooled than the others, but he was at Sea Island and Hewitt has been promoting Cotton since before he was elected to the Senate.
The guy is from Warren, Ohio. Did you read the article? I know more about Hugh than you know. Read and bought several of his books, even gave some away, but he has become a disappointment. Thanks for your kind words.
