CLEVELAND, OH (WCMH) – A discussion over politics ended with a man being shot at a Cleveland bar.

It happened Monday night at a neighborhood bar on East 131st Street.

Sixty-year-old Vietnam veteran Paul Jones told WEWS-TV was discussing the election with a friend and said that he supports Donald Trump.

Jones said that a man overheard the conversation, went out to his car and came back in with a gun. He then shot Jones in the leg and walked out.

Jones said the man wasn’t even a part of the discussion, saying, “Somebody who was butting in on the conversation. The conversation wasn’t directed at him or to him.”

Latosca Jones, Paul’s mother says her family has always discussed and debated politics.

“People today, if you don’t think like they do, they’re ready to cause problems,” said Latosca.

Police are still searching for the suspect.

Hmm, one might think that there is something more to that story than we are hearing.
We DO know that our media NEVER lie and ALWAYS tell the full story, don't we?

???

Isn’t he too young. We were already out of Vietnam in ‘73.

60-year-old Vietnam vet? The last troops came back 43 1/2 years ago. Hmmmm....

I remember then.

He could be 60 and have been there. He would have been near the end.

I think.

If a Hillary Clinton supporter was shot, you can bet that would be the lead story and talked about until election day. Trump would be called upon over and over again to condemn the shooting, and a legion of talking heads would blame him directly for the shooting, because of his “rhetoric”.

I’m 60 and I turned 18 in 1974. I guess if he enlisted at 17 it’s possible but he would have been right at the tail end.

Maybe he’s nearly 61.

I was just nearing draft age when it ended, I am younger by two years.

My husband lied about his age when he joined the military. For his whole military career his paperwork showed 10-5-35 instead of 2-8-36.

What’s nice about this is those who do have a gun can counter such a threat, in the heat of the moment.

Whether that original shooter lives, I sure don’t care.

Too young to be a combat veteran, perhaps.

The lesson will come. Shooting a Vietnam Vet for his political views...? Yea, there’s gonna be a lesson.

This ain’t spitting on a man......,.

He could be a Vietnam Era Vet. You did not have to set outside of the United States to be a Vietnam era vet. If he was an 18 year old airman in 1973 he qualifies.

I was too young to be drafted in the Vietnam war, but I have met lots of guys who are younger than I am who tell me they were drafted and served in combat. Those dumb ass reporters cannot tell the difference between a liar and a real veteran.

I think the problem is defining “when it ended.” The fall of Saigon, which meant the end of South Vietnam, happened in April of ‘75. But Nixon pulled the troops out of S. Vietnam at the end of March ‘73.
