I know the elderly in S Korea are having a lot of trouble getting by because there is no SS and the kids are LEAVING THEM. THAT never happened before.
Even my asian friends here have their parents living with them. Where else would they go if they dont have SS or savings?
To be frank, after my brain injury, it was made pretty clear I wasn’t welcome to live long term with any kin.
Only mom, of course said i could stay with her. My fiance and now wife ended up moving in with me and taking care of me.
I didn’t hold it against them, but I never forgot it.
My mother and her brothers and siters are all in 70s and 80s, and some soon 90s, and plans are being made already for the less fortunate ones to live with the more fortunate ones.
The times, they are a changing

No. Dont have kids.
Brothers and sisters said it in so many words.
I Was planning on starting a family when i got the injury.
Fools plan while others do.
It is what it is.
This all ends one day anyway.

11 years ago, prescription drug interaction caused thalamic stroke. Lost law suit. Only in NY.
2 years after that fell down flight of cement stairs. ICU, aunt calling funeral homes.
I didn’t die. That’s not all it’s cracked up to be :)
Damage to cerebellum, thalamus, limbic system, autonomic nervous system and all the goody symptoms that go with it.
On FR ALOT because, besides work, which I only started a year and a half ago after a VERY LONG recovery, I can’t do a whole lot because of dizzinesss, fatique and pain.
I keep praying to God to take me but he keeps letting me wake up :)

:) Like my screen name too..So you found FR.Guess your not working.You don’t have to answer.I appreciate your post dp0622.I knew some people.I guess everyone does.I am in ministry and some people confessed to me even though I am not a Priest ,a woman.They had to tell someone .Not just with this but with many things.I saw the other side of the mafia,women who lost husbands to this and their grown children.I heard some stories I forgot as soon as I heard.A merry Go Round of death.Frank Sinatra was involved with the big names as I was told.Not asking questions just remarking.You will be in my prayers in a special way tomorrow in a rosary.((((Hugs))))

You HAVE heard the other side. Life is brutal for a mafia wife most of the time. Though I’ve known men that were very devoted, but they weren’t on the violent side of the business.
Yeah, Tommy Dorsey never saw a penny of the 60k he was “given” to buy out Sinatra’s contract. And if he did, it was in and out of his account faster than a bankrobber out of a bank.
The guy who orcestrated it lived like 2 houses down from where Frank grew up and Frank said he didn’t know him.
