Allen was cleared in 01/22/2013 of mis-conduct in that investigation. (It doesn’t mean he didn’t send all those e-mails.)
Allen was supposed to be nominated as Supreme Allied Commander - Europe. (probably a 5th star ?) that nomination was put on hold because of the investigation. After being cleared, he was still going to be nominated.
He suddenly (28 days later) retire to take care of his wife.

Both Sen. John Kerry of Massachusetts and Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse of Rhode Island have ties to a Providence, Rhode Island lawyer and Democratic fundraiser who loaned $300,000 to Natalie Khawam. Natalie mentioned both of them when trying to impress people with her connections, according to the NY Post.
The article also says that according to the White House, that lawyer in RI, Gerald Harrington, dated Kelley and “may have been” engaged to her.
She also attended a Democratic Senate Campaign Committee event in Martha’s Vinyard and met with Kerry.
I was referring to Dakota Meyer; sorry; I guess I wasn’t very clear.
