I’m still frustrated all these years later, how the Democrats and their liberal media henchmen, politicized Hurricane Katrina.

Facts don’t matter to liberals, as we know. But certain facts never get mentioned. Bush actually signed a disaster declaration before Katrina hit Louisiana. Bush thus made federal aid available before Katrina made landfall.

Other facts glossed over: both the mayor of New Orleans and governor of Louisiana were Democrats.

Another inconvenient fact: local officials need to request aid and assistance from the federal government, before the bureaucracy moves into action, in the case of a natural disaster.

Another fact: at least 100,000 New Orleans residents chose not to evacuate for various reasons known only to them. There were days of warnings that a huge storm was approaching, but many chose to ride it out.

But none of the facts matter to anyone. The local public officials in charge were Democrats, so by definition, no blame can accrue to them for their shortcomings in handling the situation. Instead, the liberals decided that the president himself, if he’s a Republican, needs to be personally on the front lines of all relief efforts before, during, and after a natural disaster.

I saw a report on WBAL earlier this morning that some businesses on Main Street in Ellicott City “hope” to be back open by Christmas. I hope they have good insurance but it may not be enough to cover all their losses. And there is also going to have to be many street repairs and repairs to utilities. As I understand several gas mains were ruptured in the flooding.

So, if she needs to swim through these floods she should be OK, right?

these areas reported are not Balto City direct- they are outlying areas in Columbia MD, Ellicott City MD & those in & around Howard Co., MD

It's OK; they're Democrats. /sarc

Last week there was flooding in Berlin with a picture of an adult woman walking waist deep in water.

The part of Berlin I live in is actually a peninsula.

A person should consider learning to swim as a life skill no matter where they live.

it’ll probably be mentioned by the SCM that the flooding is a result of poor decision making and lack of care for the black “community back in the Bush years..

Those are several other towns considerably south of Baltimore; but all in the very blue Howard County.

“the very blue Howard County” is full of libtards and moonbats- all the Republicans are still in the closet in that county .

I escaped from Howard County four years ago, to rural Oregon. Different worlds.

A good illustration of Howard is a black guy I worked with for 12 years. His early years were spent in a town house community near where my apartment was. He said he was afraid to visit friends who still live there.

He was given a choice by a judge, jail or the army. He chose the army. That got him a job with corporate security in a major corporation, where I met him in 2000. By 2012, he had risen to IT security manager for the eastern region of that major corp.

He still complained that all black people were victims of racism in America, and could not see that his own life disproved his case.

So sad. Floods have hammered EC many, many times.

Impressive, but......*ahem*. She was in the water. She swam 168 meters. And she stopped to pee? I'll go out on a limb here and assume she stayed in the water, at least. *chuckle*

This may have been the straw that broke the camel’s back. Too many storms over too many decades for the current structure. As opposed to this being a worse storm than others.

Some 5 bulidings are losses and 30 are questionable?

Never mind the MASSIVE loss of infrastructure such as sidewalks and roads. This occurred all the way up to at least Rogers Ave, which never happens. It is usually JUST the bottom of the hill by the Patapsco that is totally ruined. Never beyond the dpcrest of the hill.

Via connecions, we heard that the newest development very close overlooking one prime way into town (Ellicott Mills Dr) may have had their damn sediment pond fail...thus the damage so far west and above Main St.

It’s actually quite conservative except of course for the interlopers from Kolumbia (mostly DC-addicted transplants).

Yes, but few have a chance when the waters are rolling like they do here. Especially down hill.

Your Agnes film has nothing to do with EC. I think that’s only PA footage.

As for the EC, context is which locations are being filmed. The 2011 is shown at the main Columbia Pike intersection, still significantly uphill from the Patapsco, and thus won’t ever look too high.
