Pope: not right to talk about a 'violent, terrorist' Islam

Pope Francis on Sunday said he won't label Islam as "terrorist" because that would be unfair and not true.

Reporters aboard the papal plane flying him home after a pilgrimage to Poland that began the day after extremists slit the throat of an elderly priest celebrating Mass in a French church, asked him why he never uses the world "Islam" to describe terrorism or other violence.

While in Poland, Francis made an unscheduled stop at a church in Krakow to implore God to protect people from the "devastating wave" of terrorism in many part of the world.

Francis replied that "it's not right to identify Islam with violence. It's not right and it's not true."

Italian Popes are no doubt vastly the most common, but they’ve come from various European nations too. The first Popes of the 20th century were from Austria and Sardinia. My hope is that the next one will come very soon from Africa.

Supposedly this particular pope will be the last one. Maybe Obama will be the pope.

The world dictator will unite religion and politics into one office.

Every time this man opens his mouth, he convinces me all the more that he is a total fool, completely ignorant of history and what Mohammad did and what he taught.

IMHO Pope Francis is transforming the RCC from a religious entity into a global political ideology/party.

The RCC has given me cause to turn my back and walk away from it........

Mistakes, yes.

Anyone can make a mistake.

This pope is clearly NOT making mistakes.

This has been a pattern from Day One. It’s well beyond the *It was a mistake*, *He was misunderstood.*, or *He was mistranslated.* This is just about a daily event.

His views were known before his election, and the Cardinals chose him. I have read that he was also the second choice before the previous, now retired, Pope...............

It is called liberalism. It is a mental disorder which causes the brain cells to rot.

You speak foolishly by showing an inability to grasp the difference between Pope Frances’ “political” statements and on matters of faith as successor to Peter.

There are millions of Catholics living in Pakistan; Bangladesh, Indonesia, Nigeria, Kenya, Cameroon, and Ethiopia, Syria, Turkey, and Iraq, to name a few. Any condemnation of Islam itself by the Pope will be the equivalent of signing a death warrant to these Catholics and other Christian faiths whose houses of worship will be burned to the ground and marauding mobs will kill innocent men, women, and children.

It’s easy from the comfortable drawing room parlors of the West to take aim at Frances “political” statements without regard to the consequences. Just this past Sunday, Muslims attended Sunday Mass in Churches across France for the martyred death of Fr. Jacques Hamel.

Radical Islam must be eliminated. But this is a solution for secular powers with the use of armies.

You ask why RitaOk reacts differently to different people.

The difference is that Catholics on this thread are criticizing the Pope, while you are slandering the Church. As always.
