Perhaps an over-generalization but I think a weak president (Obama/Hillary) allows for certain, aggressive elements in Russia to think again of world domination. Knowing Trump has a response for everything may indeed keep the world peace.
The Left is able to grow as large as they could in Europe, because the Right wingers in America are subsidizing them. Let Europe face a bit of reality and force them to defend themselves.

The Euro-snobs used to chide America for not having as lavish gov’t health care as they did.
So many times I’ve heard arrogant Germans say, “Yah, und ve have much better health care than the Americans do...[because we’re better than Americans]!”
HOWEVER, the US has paid for their defense for years, thus allowing them to spend the “saved defense money” on healthcare that each country would normally have spent on defense in their budget.
Their lavish gov’t healthcare plans were indirectly a GIFT from American taxpayers.
