Top Republicans and political allies to Donald Trump are planning an "intervention" with the candidate following a disastrous two days and political firestorm encircling the Republican presidential nominee, according to a report Wednesday.
Republican National Committee (RNC) chairman Reince Priebus, former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani and former Speaker Newt Gingrich are among those looking to talk with the businessman, NBC News reports.
The group hopes to enlist Trump's children, who have proven pivotal in advising the businessman's candidacy, in their effort to get Trump back on track after days of feuding on Trump's part that even his closest political allies like New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie has found inappropriate.
Trump insisted in a tweet early Wednesday that there is "great unity" in his campaign despite reports of internal campaign strife following an onslaught of negative attention.
The real estate tycoon feuded with the parents of a slain American Muslim soldiers killed in Iraq whose father spoke at last week's Democratic convention, then caught flak over his answers in an interview on Russia's moves in Europe.
Trump told The Washington Post on Tuesday he wasn't ready to back Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) and Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) in their primary races, despite them endorsing his candidacy, and he also swiped at Sen. Kelly Ayotte (R-N.H.).
When did Ryan endorse Trump? It certainly wasn’t during the Convention.
And as far as McCain goes—he needs to be retired.
I love how the GOP is now so worried about their Senate majority that WE gave to them.

Not necessarily....we all know Trump can be misspoken at times, even he has admitted as much. However it’s too close to the actual election and he does have to reel things in and focus......we know he’s a statesman in progress but the leadership still expects a more formal presentation to garner ‘other’ supporters he will need besides Trumps base.

This Khan thing is, as everyone recognized from the onset, just another demoCRAP con job on the American people, when in fact, they are hiding these people's real backgrounds and agendas. They are the Cindy Sheehans of this election cycle. Use them, work them for all it's worth, then dump them and leave them to their own devices for the media wolves and parasites to pick over their scraps.
All Trump has done is expose their fraud and, as is typical of the liberal media, he is the one being attacked.
