That's Kathleen GILLIGAN Sebelius. She's not native to Kansas. She was the daughter of the most hard-left Marxist moonbat Governor in Ohio history, Jack Gilligan. He was so bad he couldn't win reelection in 1974 even with the incredible anti-GOP climate. Gilligan was responsible for putting the Communist Howard Metzenbaum in the Senate. Katie married the daughter of a respected KS Republican Congressman, Keith Sebelius, and proceeded to use his name to win office, despite the fact she was a hard-core leftist.

Except Dole WAS a member of the Conservative wing of the party, although he became a part of the establishment in his time in DC. A name you may or may not recognize is that of Sen. James Pearson. He was Dole's senior seatmate for his first 8 years. Pearson's voting record as a Republican was horrible, virtually indistinguishable from Ted Kennedy's. When people complain about Dole or Pat Roberts, they all don't know what it was like to have a real establishment RINO leftist in Pearson. It's those guys trying to undermine Brownback as Governor and Huelskamp. The Cruz stuff, as has been said repeatedly, has nothing to do with this whatsoever, because there's been a target on Huelskamp's back since Cruz was in Law School.
