Joe Thomas ‏@joe_thomas18 3m3 minutes ago Netherton Way is around a 20 minute drive from the Royal. That's a long time for someone stabbed in the arms and legs.

But probably a lot quicker way to get into the ER instead of waiting on an ambulance then being put on hold in the parking lot....

Does Liverpool have a moslem mayor too?

No, they have “Concrete Joe” who likes developers....:^)

The city center is awash in new, high rent student apartments, which are effectively property (council) tax exempt.

My guess is that they have chatter that something is imminent. They have massive police present in London. So now each incident is being treated as if it is part of some big planned assault

A multitude of "lone wolf" attacks can have the same cumulative effect as a big assault.

Yes, Google maps shows a 14 to 16 minute drive and the Liverpool ambulances don't respond as quickly as our local AZ services. From NW Ambulance services -

We aim to respond to red 1 and 2 calls within 8 minutes in 75 per cent of cases and 19 minutes in 95 per cent of cases. This is a national target.

Driving was probably better as long as you stay alive enough to make it...:^)

Note that the response times are a "national target" but you would think that a large, densely populated city could do better.
