I agree it was a plan and media/DNC driven and predictable. I also predict this is Clinton’s high water mark.
He needs to hit her and Obama and nothing else. He has surrogates that can do that well.

What we are seeing happening to Trump is one reason the GOPe are such wimps - they are terrified of this, they’re totally incapable of dealing with these onslaughts, so they when they can’t beat them, they join them.

So the GOPe is sitting back smiling, saying “we told you so”. They are entirely emasculated...as is our stupid society...they won’t fight because the Empire and its Death Star are too much. Quislings.

“their heads will explode and they will foam at the mouth.”

They’re kind of doing that now ... wouldn’t you say? :-).

August is a terrible month to campaign / spend money. I think everyone could agree on that. Nobody cares about politics around this time outside of the hardcore political junkies. Those hardcore people are a candidate’s base.

Now, keeping that in mind, we have to conclude that the media is trying to destroy Trump’s base support given the attacks this week. Look at how the events unfolded after Clinton’s horrible convention ...

Over the weekend, we meet Khan ... not Ricardo Montalban or Sherlock Holmes, but a genuine Khan thanks to self-admitted Clinton pet George Snuffaluffagous or whatever the hell that fruit’s name is. Trump makes a quip about his wife not speaking during her husband’s rant and he’s suddenly attacking every soldier, decorated or not, in United States history according to the media.

Shortly after that, we see all of these stories about Trump’s campaign being in the toilet and stories about what would happen if Trump drops out.

Then, according to the media that all the sudden seems to care about Republicans, we should ditch Trump since he’s showing signs of insanity. The President of the United States also gets on TV and denounces Trump and asks the party to reconsider their decision.

Again, all of the drama is based on a frigging quip. Half assed polls of registered voters and “adults” are released to back up the story that “Trump is done ... finished” despite raising $80M in July.

This kind of attack was going to happen this week. They were going to take anything Trump said and try and make media mega-story out of it. They got *something* and ran with it. Hillary’s convention was a disaster and they needed *anything* to shift the narrative.

Now, if anyone is worried, ask yourself two things :

1> If Clinton was clearly ahead of Trump and this whole thing was going to be a cakewalk, would the media AND the President, owner of the bully pulpit, attack Trump now, in August, when only his core support is paying attention?

2> Why would Trump’s opponents, almost insured an easy victory if their narrative was true, be calling for him to drop out now?

Given the scope of the attack, it has to be a strategy. My guess is that the Dems are spewing all of this crap to get yellowbellies to drop support for Trump and “hope” for the Republican party to “change” candidates.

Bottom line, nobody should go wobbly ... especially in August. If we see poll numbers of likely voters look like they do now at the end of September, we might have a problem. Right now, just accept the fact that the incumbent party has something of a lead right now and that we have one hell of a fight coming up this fall.

In the meantime, try and enjoy the final few weeks of summer and don’t go getting yourself all wound up over another failed Democratic Party / Media strategy. Wait until they start on Trump being a madman that wants to start shooting off nuclear weapons ... that’s going to be funny.

So you won’t be voting “down ticket” if Trump don’t get more than 72% of the Republican vote. And what will that prove, other than a bunch of liberals will control elective offices?

Getting Dems elected - pretty stupid.

I absolutely agree. Trump is killing himself in a very winnable election - and a must win one at that.

I actually believe they will get far worse if polls shift in Trumps favor especially in late October.

Trump fell behind in the USC poll today, by .6 points.

All the polls show Trump sliding. Please spare us the “skewed polls” excuse, as that died when Romney lost in 2012.

It is still Republican quislings who are sucking their thumb and kicking the floor because their candidate won’t lose which would happen for EVERY other candidate. I believe in the end they will come to their senses and realize not supporting Trump will mean hell for the next four generations to come.

I don’t believe ANY of the “news” disseminated by the propaganda outlets anymore - NONE! They have given us no reason to believe them.

Actually polls were basically incorrect in midterms 2014, KY 2015 and Brexit most recently. All results in our favor while polling went the other direction.

Sorry, I’m not campaigning for Democrats now. The highest ranking elected Republican IS. I won’t be voting GOP down ticket if the party does not fully support Trump. Support is a two way street in my book and right now Amnesty Ryan is busy fragging Trump to the benefit of Hillary Rotten Criminal.

emotionally driven insanity of the never trump people

I have to admit, that made me laugh. Mostly because of the emotionally driven insanity of (some of) the Trump people.

This is more in line with reality, and is why the elites on both sides of the aisle are angry and aggressive. Trump laid on the ropes for a week, offered his chin, and they banged away with everything that had, but he just waved them off and went to his corner between rounds - not significantly hurt, and clearly not in trouble. At some point, he will start throwing leather, and he will land. They’re not used to people punching them back.

“We need a new, Conservative party.”

Actually, we need an American party, to combat the lunacy and radicalism of the other side.

The problem is that never in the history of the Republic have so many traitors been in roles of power and been in a position to stop a true Patriot.

Every single morning Trump wakes up and faces a barrage of personal attacks from the most evil people currently living in our nation. If Trump can continue to face that with the same courage, resilience and good humour he has so far then light can, and will, prevail.
