Ayotte down 10 in latest New Hampshire poll (she'll blame Trump, but her voting record is pathetic!)

Sen. Kelly Ayotte (R-N.H.) is trailing her Democratic rival, Gov. Maggie Hassan, by 10 points in what has been one of the tightest Senate races in the country, according to a new poll from WBUR Radio.

The poll, which was conducted between July 19 and Aug. 1, shows 50 percent of respondents saying they would vote for Hassan if the election were held today, compared with 40 percent for Ayotte. Ayotte is one of the most vulnerable GOP senators up for reelection in a year in which Republicans can afford to lose only three seats if they hope to maintain control of the Senate.

The boost for Hassan also mirrors the surging popularity of Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton in New Hampshire. Clinton leads Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump 47 to 32 in the state, according to the same poll. Her favorability rating also climbed to 45 percent from 35 percent in May. Meanwhile, Trump’s favorability fell from 33 to 29 percent.

Democrats were happy to blame Trump for Ayotte’s decline. Ayotte has long said she will vote for the GOP nominee, despite criticizing Trump for his feud with the parents of Army Capt. Humayun Khan, who was killed in Iraq in 2004. Trump responded by bashing her as a weak and disloyal leader, comments that have not dissuaded Ayotte from backing him, according to aides.

She used Palin & she used everybody. I followed her run closely 6 years ago & she was solid. She had all the conservative positions down-pat. Then, boom, she slid right over to McCain & Graham.

I don’t think the GOP understands that the base is just about ready to see the party destroyed and bid it good riddance.

Wow, you nailed it!

Trump is the best thing that has happened to the GOP since Reagan, and they are trying to destroy him.

Ayotte joined the McAmnesty and Grahamnesty gang as soon as she got to theDistrict of Corruption, just like Rubio.
We need to remove ALL multi-national politicians from office.

If McConnell hadn’t put so many knives in Trump’s back Trump might come campaign for her and save her seat...

RINOs are so stupid.

We gave the Republicans their biggest majorities in 80 years in 2014 and they responded by stabbing us harder than ever in the backs. We can no longer tolerate these snakes in the garden under the guise of “a bad Republican at least gives us a majority.” They need to start representing us or get gone.

The GOP majority senate has not done a damn thing with the power that was given to them.

They sure did play us--but good.

This poll was a heap of garbage. Ayotte may lose, but not by 10 points.

I don't buy this poll because spread is large July 19 and Aug 1.

Elsewhere is has 63% of Republicans for Donald Trump. The date span straddles all but one day of the Republican convention, Trump's post-convention bounce, the Democrat convention, and Clinton's post convention bounce.

Three months ago, before Trump had caught up, these guys had Clinton and Trump tied in New Hampshire.

I don't buy it, either.

That seniment swings both ways ... "I don't think the base understands that the party is just about ready to see the base destroyed and bid it good riddance." This has been openly suggested as a goal, let them have Trump, he will lose and we will bury the nationalists for a couple generations.

The #NeverTrumpists are going to go all out in opposition to Trump, and then, in their usual arrogant form, will blame others for what is essentially their doing.

It's a death match. It is that serious. One group or the other will be buried.

New Hampshire loves Trump. She should have stood with the people. She can’t blame Trump because she stood against him.

No, very bad. We must have a Rep majority to control committees. Why in the world would you want a liberal Dem to be elected to the Senate? I think you are posting on the wrong board.

“Do you buy this???”

I buy that she’s down, but this poll is frigging useless. I think this was the same firm that dumped the “Trump is down 10” poll yesterday.

"New Hampshire loves Trump."

The poll has Clinton up 15 over Trump. In New Hampshire.

True, Trump had a bad week. But something is screwy about this poll.

This poll is at best questionable, however one thing is certain. Within the republican tent we have gone from small arms fire to full scale nuclear mutually assured destruction. 2016 will be remembered as the year the liberty torch flickered painfully to a final puff of smoke.

And, on that insight and wisdom, Carnak wishes you a nice weekend.

My wife’s mother (like Hassan, also dumb as a rock) believes that ‘Trump isn’t Presidential material’, but that the alternative is much worse. The poor thing has never had an original thought in her life, so it makes me wonder what media outlet put that idea between her ears...Monitor..? Union-Leader? WMUR?

Gee--You'd think the GOP "leadership" in the Senate would have considered that reality before crapping on their base and surrendering to Obama.

What’s the bad news here? She votes more with the Democratic party than her own so its not really a net change in how the senate votes
