Donald Trump Set to Endorse Paul Ryan in Wisconsin

Donald Trump is set to endorse House Speaker Paul Ryan (Wis.) during a rally in Green Bay, Wisconsin on Friday evening, Fox News reported.

The expected endorsement comes three days after Trump told the Washington Post he was not “yet” ready to back Ryan in his upcoming primary election next Tuesday against Wisconsin businessman Paul Nehlen.

While Trump publicly praised Nehlen for running “a very good campaign” earlier this week, Ryan is expected to win the primary by a landslide. The House speaker leads Nehlen by 66 points, according to a poll released Friday by the Remington Research Group.

Trump declined to endorse Ryan on Tuesday despite his running mate, Indiana Gov. Mike Pence, throwing his weight behind the Wisconsin congressman earlier in the day.

“I like Paul, but these are horrible times for our country,” Trump told the Washington Post. “We need very strong leadership. We need very, very strong leadership. And I’m just not quite there yet.”

When CNN asked Ryan in May whether he would endorse the business mogul’s presidential bid, the House speaker replied that he was “just not ready to do that at this point,” although he later did announce his formal endorsement of Trump.

Ryan warned Thursday that his endorsement of Trump was “not a blank check” amid concerns in the Republican Party that the GOP nominee is making too many unforced errors rather than focusing his attacks on Hillary Clinton’s weaknesses.

It’s the conservative Republicans of CD1 who went for Cruz and now might be warming to Trump, but who also love Ryan.

It’s a balance. But Ryan’s fate is not going to be determined by what FReepert think or what anyone other than the 700,000 people in his district, and they love him just like they loved Cruz, giving him 60% of the primary votes vs 22% for Trump. Why piss them off all over again? If they don’t want Ryan, they alone make that choice regardless of what Trump or anyone else says.

Watch out or you’ll be called a “concern troll”. I have been for expressing similar things.

A Trump endorsement or not, me thinks Ryan is going to lose unless he and his RINO establishment buddies cheat

Trump supports RINO Ryan?

The same RINO Ryan that is for everything Trump is against?

Why?

Unlike Trump, Nehln would at least consider Muslim deportations.

You think they’ll vote for trump just because he endorses ryan?

Rudy endorsed cuomo like a psycho in the 90s, and it didn’t change my mind about voting for him.

But who knows, maybe you’re right and if it gets him 30 percent more votes, it’s worth it.

By Trump doing something so asinine as to endorse this disgusting enemy combatant, if he was running against anyone of integrity instead of that criminal anti-American poseur he would NOT be getting my vote.

I heard something wise about this election.

If the campaign is about Hillary she wil lose, if it is about Trump he will lose.

Shouldn’t the Presidential Nominee stay out of the primary politics in his own party?

Don’t do it. Trump doesn’t need to get into the race.

Ryan will be a huge drag to advance Trump agenda. So it won’t be a loss at all.

CNN is just reporting that Trump “backtracks” on endorsing Ryan.

Is there a mole working in the Trump campaign, giving out incorrect information?

Perhaps Trump never meant to endorse anyone.

Maybe he’ll endorse him in public and frag him behind his back like Ryan did to him.

From twitter: Bill Mitchell ‏@mitchellvii 3m3 minutes ago Ryan just announced he will NOT bring TPP to a vote while Obama is POTUS! That's probably what Trump got in exchange. #win!
