Ryan has shown himself a weasel. Trump has shown himself to be a gentleman. Keep your friends close but your enemies closer.

Polls I saw indicated Ryan has no problem winning. Trump can’t cut off his nose. We need unity and backing a loser won’t get us there. He obviously didn’t want to do this but there are way bigger issues at stake.

Unity is a two way street. Ryan & Walker just publicly snubbed Trump. Trump can endorse from Trump tower. Optics here look real bad for Trump. He looks subservient to the GOPe here doing this in Wisconsin.

Let’s get this train running with all wheels on the track and pulling in the right direction.

Thank you.

Only the very politically naive would continue to think that Trump could continue to disconnect these people.

He cited the 80/20 theorem, which springs from Ronald Reagan.

I know what he meant, and I know that Trump knew what he meant.

Now, let's get out the vote!

I am shocked at the number of Freepers who are perfectly willing to lose the war in order to win a battle. In fact this isn’t even a battle it’s a minor skirmish.

Trump should have stayed out of a down ballot race. Ryan didn’t ask for his endorsement, didn’t want it. Ignore Ryan and beat Clinton.

This could be a very close race where Wisconsin’s electoral votes matter. He did what he had to do, and he proved he can be pragmatic when he needs to be. Get on message - beat Clinton. He can, and will fight Ryan another day. He has to beat Clinton before getting into policy fights with Republicans on the hill. There will be plenty of time for that, but only if he beats Clinton.

Trump has no chance of winning Wisconsin without all hands on deck. Ryan & Walker have shown they will not fully support the ticket. Trump needs to write off Wisconsin and move on.

Ryan has been undermining Trump endlessly for months. Ryan snubbed Trump tonight and refused to appear with him. Now Trump kisses his ring after non-endorsing him a few days ago? Ryan will just feel emboldened now to continue attacking Trump.

That’s what Pence is for

Vice-Presidents hold no real power. Republicans are expected to retain control of the Senate. So what would Pence do?

I see this as leverage. Ryan is expected to win. I hate him, and I hope Nehlen wins, but it's an uphill fight. Ryan is still Speaker, and will work with Trump. Remember that Trump is a master negotiator and businessman. Ryan screws him over, all bets are off.

There is something going on for Trump to do this, what I don’t know, but he has always been a Gentleman

It is no coincidence Ryan said today that there would be no vote on TPP this year.

I have no problem with Trump over this. If the polls are right, he has a problem with republicans. I STILL have a huge problem with the republican party, including Ryan, McCain and all the other losers who have gone out of their way to trash the convention and give the election to Hillary.

I will never forgive the republican party.

Trump will not forget who supported him. Whether he wins or not. Ryan will wish he lost.

Trump endorsed Ryan because Ryan is ahead by 66 points. If Ryan won by such a margin without Trump’s endorsement, it would make it look like Trump’s endorsement doesn’t matter. It would make Trump look non-influential and unimportant. That’s why he endorsed him.

I agree. He has to build party unity in order to win. I think he’d rather throw up than have to endorse Ryan and McCain, but, like you say - he has to win the WH and that’s the goal. The media was having way too much fun pitting Trump against Ryan.

Eh.

He has to put the feud behind him and get back on message.

Ryan was going win anyway.

Maybe you should stop sniping at Trump and get busy trying to help us help him defeat Hillary! Hillary is the enemy not Trump!

After Trump’s endorsement of Ryan & McCain, just sent Kelli Ward & Paul Nehlen another campaign contribution. I am so disappointed.

I see the optics of why he did this, but I think he should have just ridden out the primary. Now Cruz is getting in on the act and says he will not endorse Speaker Ryan. Never thought I would agree with Cruz. Trump is going to take heat for this. And he deserves it.

So Trump caves in to pressure from the uniparty. Gee, he acts like he is above all that.

The GOPe have proven the past few months they don’t want unity with Trump. Trump can’t “build” anything. Ryan will continue to back stab him and now Trump can’t respond without being accused of not wanting unity. Total nonsense.

McCain fighting for his life in the polls! This just sucked the air right out of Kelli Wards campaign. She was ALMOST there.... ALMOST unseated McCain! We’ve worked for that for years! And Trump could care less.

"So Trump caves in to pressure from the uniparty. Gee, he acts like he is above all that.

If he wants support from the Party - most importantly, the House and Senate, he has to help.

And it puts this stupid story to bed and puts his message about Hildabeast back in the center.
