John McCain’s 1969 “Tokyo Rose” Propaganda Recording Released

Vero Beach, FL - (TRUNEWS) U.S. Senator John McCain recorded a Tokyo Rose-style propaganda message that was broadcast on North Vietnamese radio in 1969.

TRUNEWS, a nonprofit Christian digital news app, obtained the bombshell audio recording and released it today on the organization’s daily newscast hosted by Rick Wiles. TRUNEWS acquired the audio recording in cooperation with WeSearchR.com, a new media company founded by Charles Johnson.

The 1969 North Vietnamese radio broadcast has never been heard in the United States of America. In fact, there has never been any knowledge that such a recording existed. The audio recording was found in a misplaced file in the National Archives in Washington, D.C. The broadcast was recorded by the Foreign Broadcast Information Service, a branch of the CIA that monitored international shortwave and foreign radio broadcasts.

Lt. Commander John McCain was shot down over Hanoi by a North Vietnamese missile while flying his 23rd bombing mission. Both of his arms and one leg were broken. He was pulled ashore by North Vietnamese who took him to a prison known by POWs as the “Hanoi Hilton.”

McCain was a prisoner of war for five and a half years. He was released on March 14, 1973, and returned to the United States of America as a war hero. His POW legacy propelled McCain to victory in a race for a U.S. Congressional seat in Arizona in 1982. He replaced Barry Goldwater in the Senate in 1986.

In the propaganda recording, Lt. Commander McCain said he was “guilty of crimes against the Vietnamese country and people.” He confessed that he bombed “their cities, towns, and villages and caused many injuries, even deaths, for the people of Vietnam.”

He praised the medical care and kindness of his communist captors even though he came to North Vietnam as “an aggressor.” McCain said he wished to express his “deep gratitude” for their “kind treatment” and that he “will never forget” the kindness extended to him by the communist North Vietnamese.

Senator McCain is running for a sixth six-year term in the Senate. He is facing a strong primary challenge from former State Senator Dr. Kelli Ward, a physician in Lake Havasu.

The Arizona Republican Primary is August 30. Sen. McCain will turn age 80 on the day before the primary.

Here is the actual script of John McCain’s 1969 “Tokyo Rose” propaganda broadcast on North Vietnamese radio.

To the Vietnamese people and the government of the DRVN:

From John Sidney McCain, 624787, Lieutenant Commander, U.S. Navy, born 29 August, 1936, Panama, home state Oregon. Shot down 26 October, 1967, A-4E aircraft.

I, as a U.S. airman, am guilty of crimes against the Vietnamese country and people. I bombed their cities, towns and villages and caused many injuries, even deaths, for the people of Vietnam.

I was captured in the capital city of Hanoi, while attacking it. After I was captured, I was taken to the hospital in Hanoi, where I received very good medical treatment. I was given an operation on my leg, which allowed me to walk again, and a cast on my right arm, which was badly broken in three places.

The doctors were very good and they knew a great deal about the practice of medicine. I remained in the hospital for some time and regained much of my health and strength. Since I arrived in the camp of detention, I received humane and lenient treatment.

I received this kind treatment and food even though I came here as an aggressor and the people who I injured have much difficulty in their living standards. I wish to express my deep gratitude for my kind treatment and I will never forget this kindness extended to me.

Once the N Vietnamese found out his daddy was an admiral, he was given very preferential treatment.

According to Col, David Hackworth, McCain was a TRAITOR and willingly collaborated with his captors.

Hackworth also said EVERY fellow POW he interviewed said the same thing.

BTW Hack died of a rare type of cancer a year before the 2008 election.

Trump should studiously ignore this matter and let it fade back into the mists of history, from whence it came. This one is toxic.

It amazes me how many of you are still brainwashed into believing McCain was a war hero.

Just because he crashed another plane and was injured doesn’t make him a hero.

Spilling his guts to the enemy, cooperating every chance he got, making propaganda videos for the ENEMY in a time of WAR is called TREASON!

Much is made about his staying behind when he could have left. It might have more to do with a future political career than valor, but I suspect he was ashamed for having completely cooperated with the enemy (on video no less) and feared the consequences of his TREASON.

Name, rank, serial number, and date of birth

Code of Conduct for Members of the United States Armed Forces

I. I am an American, fighting in the forces which guard my country and our way of life. I am prepared to give my life in their defense.

II. I will never surrender of my own free will. If in command, I will never surrender the members of my command while they still have the means to resist.

III. If I am captured I will continue to resist by all means available. I will make every effort to escape and aid others to escape. I will accept neither parole nor special favors from the enemy.

IV. If I become a prisoner of war, I will keep faith with my fellow prisoners. I will give no information or take part in any action which might be harmful to my comrades. If I am senior, I will take command. If not, I will obey the lawful orders of those appointed over me and will back them up in every way.

V. When questioned, should I become a prisoner of war, I am required to give name, rank, service number and date of birth. I will evade answering further questions to the utmost of my ability. I will make no oral or written statements disloyal to my country and its allies or harmful to their cause

VI. I will never forget that I am an American, fighting for freedom, responsible for my actions, and dedicated to the principles which made my country free. I will trust in my God and in the United States of America.

REAL heroes don’t make propaganda videos for the enemy.

he was mistreated, tortured, and kept in horrific conditions.

That tape should not be held against him.

I absolutely agree with you. Anyone using this tape against him is trash. And I really hope it blows up in their face.

I found this comment. The guy makes a valid point.

I don’t understand;

John McCain should be faulted for reading this obviously prepared statement under the threat to him and his fellow POW. And I can understand not wanting to publicly admit to doing so, as they were the enemy. I understand that he is a politician and lying is business as usual. I understand all this but the fact is he has disgraced his uniform, his country, and his flag, but not in Vietnam. John McCain crimes were not in Vietnam, but in Libya, Syria, and Ukraine. His war crimes have aided in the deaths of injuries of millions. Who would believe America would be arming the group that attacked our country on September 11, 2001. And McCain is complicit!

What I don’t understand is John McCain supplying aid and comfort to the enemy that did not hold him hostage. I don’t understand why he is pictured with the same terrorist group that attacked this country. I don’t understand how he stirred up violence in the Ukraine by siding with Neo Nazi white supremacists groups. I don’t understand how Libya is better off now that it is in utter chaos, or how Egypt would be better served by the Muslim Brother Hood. I don’t understand why trying to put the same enemy in charge of Syria that attacked our country isn’t Treason. I don’t understand, but I know I’m being lied to by my government who is complicit with aiding the terrorist.

Well I don’t understand it all, I’m getting the idea. America is being run by those who are league with the devil. American Satanist who run this country have turned other countries into burnt out shells, and driven whole populations fleeing for their lives. Our American Monsters have arranged the arming and training of foreign terrorist to enter sovereign countries and make war against them claiming to be rebels. Our media has duped the American people and is totally complicit with the American Government regime change efforts. Based on US media standards the 19 hijackers would be called rebels who were valiantly fighting for regime change against oppressors.

Richard Servant of Christ

AMEN!!

He disgraced his uniform in Vietnam too, but I won’t quibble. I understand the point he was trying to make.

You are both correct. Trump needs to refuse this poisoned bait. While McCain may be one of the worst RINOS, this is a setup to tempt Trump into another, “Trump disrespects Vets” faux-pas.

While McCain’s actions may be suspect, the entire subject of coerced confessions is a no-win for all. Everyone knows that anyone can be broken, and having this conveniently show up now is more than suspect. I imagine the Democrats have held this over McCain forever and it may explain many of his actions over the course of his overlong tenure.

Defending our military is admirable. I agree.

But, defending them “No Matter What” is not.

Just like the support for our police. It is admirable, except when they shoot dogs and unarmed young Black males in the back.

Blind loyalty is NOT admirable, it’s blind.

The “TRUTH” shall set you free

Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

I would LOVE to dig through the Blackmail File held by the Dems. There has to be something on every Republican in there.

Why else would an “opposition” party, with control of both houses of Congress, fail to pass up EVERY chance to impeach, impound and improve? No judges or government officials removed, no budgets passed, no Constitutional violations addressed and no illegal executive orders rescinded? Seriously?

And the GOPe can’t understand why we’re pissed to the point of revolt?

what violations? Need facts with proof, not allegations.
Thanks.

They adjusted the Code of Conduct after the VN war because most all of the POWs broke and they believed they violated the Code. In fact, now you are taught to resist but not expected to resist to the point of death.

Agree. He was a POW.

Plus - he’s done more damage as a senator than he ever could have as a POW.

Not everyone, too include Stockwell.

Facts on what he did.

I keep hearing he acted dishonorably as a POW, but I am still looking for proof, specifics, not some person somewhere saying he did bad, and that is repeated endlessly and it becomes an “everyone knows,”

Proof of your allegations. Sources, credible sources and links, please.

The change of the code to resist to the utmost of your ability is key to easing the minds of the POWs, because when they broke they viewed that as a result weakness and they would be prosecuted.

It appears by your standard every POW that broke is guilty and weak.

That is unfairly harsh.

SERE training is hard and it isn’t real and it was hard enough.
