I am in no way condoning what she (they) did. As there was more than one, we don’t know about them all.
All I know from what I read about her trial was she thought she would be acquitted when her story was revealed, but instead she was found guilty.
I based my opinion on the book Tokyo Rose: Orphan of the Pacific. It’s very balanced.
And THAT is the Straw Man tactic.... No one on here said being a POW in Vietnam was easy. So why would you make that point and attack it?
It is a fact McCain was not treated the same as the rest of the POWs because they broke him. McCain was scared of torture. So he gave the enemy everything they wanted. Hence, the name “songbird”. I just wonder how many Navy and Marine Corp pilots were killed or captured in Vietnam because McCain sang like a Canary.

For the record the Japanese were brutal to our POWs during World War II.
Look up the Bataan Death March for one example. The Japanese did not honor the Geneva convention.
I don’t think the Germans treatment of our POWs was like the show Hogan’s Heros. I remember as a kid every time that show came on my Dad would get really upset. He said the show is full of crap of how the Germans treated our POWs. Granted it was not like a concentration camp, but it was not like Hovan’s Heros.

I don't care for McCain politically. But many POWs were were there and you weren't and they whether you like it or not endorsed him in 2008 and one was my former C.O. Unlike you I have not voted for a GOP nor DEM in the POTUS General election since Bob Dole Says. No I did not vote for McCain I am Constitutional Conservative and McCain isn't. Again Stinkweed there are many Freepers long time ones know that about me.

Now the question again. How many years did you serve as a POW in NAM? It’s a fair and reasonable question since you are judging other POWS.
Which is just the stuff that is disputed as dubious. See post 137, among others.
