Politically I can’t stand him. I’m separating politics from his Naval service. As I said Nam was not WW2 or even Korea. Our POW’s there faced brutal ongoing tortures for the longest period of war in our history as a nation. Did you forget that part? Could you withstand it? Well could you? If McCain’s treatment followed that of the one I knew they likely isolated him from day one. But I will say this. I’ll take Stockdale’s word on the matter of McCain’s behavior over yours any day.

For the record the Japanese were brutal to our POWs during World War II.

Look up the Bataan Death March for one example. The Japanese did not honor the Geneva convention.

I don’t think the Germans treatment of our POWs was like the show Hogan’s Heros. I remember as a kid every time that show came on my Dad would get really upset. He said the show is full of crap of how the Germans treated our POWs. Granted it was not like a concentration camp, but it was not like Hovan’s Heros.
