Had just seen the Travelers Golf Tournament and a guy from Scotland won, Russell Knox.

Female rider took a header on that course today. Wouldn’t be surprised to hear she broke her neck. Very dangerous course, lots of crashes.

I'm watching some of the events I enjoy while rather on the fly while working around the house...but sitting down to watch some pretty exciting finishes!

To the boo-birds boycotting or complaining about the Games, don't watch 'em...and spare us from the negative harping when we are trying to enjoy interesting and fun comments on an Olympic thread.

Our young men and women athletes have trained hard for years, some at quite a sacrifice...and they've flown down to Rio to do their best for their sport and their country...and to entertain us with high-level performances, to boot.

Why on earth lay the sins of the Olympic Committee, the Opening Ceremony organizers, even the commentators, upon the shoulders of these young people giving their all in COMPETITIVE sports???

Remember, the Left hates the word "competition"....and its marxist agenda calls for all to be equal...with no winners and losers in any game or walk of life.

These athletes ARE COMPETITORS and undoubtedly most of them will have successful, productive careers...and won't be on the dole.

Let's hear some POSITIVE remarks about the various events and the athletes. Let's share the ecstasy of victory and the agony of defeat with them...and let's celebrate all those participants, including our own young Americans, who are experiencing the thrills of their lifetimes!

The Olympics never meant much after this historic night:

That's probably the most iconic Sports Illustrated cover ever printed, too.

Still think that having footage from the submarine couch would be awesome.

Our PBS is showing a new “Inspector Lewis on Masterpiece”. Might as well enjoy it, you’ve already paid for it with your tax dollars.

My dad is a Nielsen household. He is not supposed to tell anyone that he is and I guess I shouldn't either, but it probably is OK since you don't know who he is. He likes the Olympics based on what is being shown. Rhythmic gymnastics - not so much. Swimming - yes.

Plus, he is a huge FOX news fan...nothing I can do about that.

How the heck does that happen? Rio folks have some ‘splainin’ to do. I know the road was wet from the rain, but for a bike to go out of control like that, makes no sense.

The Dutch cycling federation tweeted that she suffered three small vertebrae fractures and a severe concussion. Officials said she will spend 24 hours in intensive care. They said that she was conscious when she was transported from the course to a local hospital.

My wife is glued to it.

I’m watching vintage Police Story episodes. Good series.

I remember Beach Volleyball was packed in London.

In Rio, the stadium isn’t even half full, and this time it’s actually on a real beach!

Brazil is a dangerous place for sure.
One of my old bosses took over our operation in Belo Horizonte and got shot in his own home in a robbery.
Luckily survived.

Olympics is supposed to be about national pride, but they have turned it into a global phenomenon.
