A US Secret Service official confirms to CNN that the USSS has spoken to the Trump campaign regarding his Second Amendment comments.
“There has been more than one conversation” on the topic, the official told CNN.
The campaign told USSS Donald Trump did not intend to incite violence.
The controversy erupted on Tuesday afternoon when Trump said at a rally that Second Amendment defenders might be able to stop Clinton.
“Hillary wants to abolish — essentially abolish the Second Amendment. By the way, if she gets to pick, if she gets to pick her judges, nothing you can do, folks. Although the Second Amendment people, maybe there is, I don’t know,” Trump said. “But I tell you what, that will be a horrible day, if Hillary gets to put her judges in, right now we’re tied.”
Trump said Tuesday evening that he was simply trying to unify gun owners against Clinton in the voting booth.
“This is a political movement. This is a strong political movement, the Second Amendment,” Trump said to Fox News’ Sean Hannity. “And there can be no other interpretation … I mean, give me a break.”
Supporters downplay remarks
The Republican presidential nominee’s supporters Wednesday attempted to quell the controversy, saying either that Trump was joking or that Democrats and the media were spinning it into something bigger than it was. Many interpreted Trump’s comments as a threat to rival Hillary Clinton.
Corey Lewandowski, Trump’s former campaign manager, said the billionaire businessman was trying to unite Second Amendment supporters to turn out to defeat Clinton.
“This was a joke … He wasn’t inciting violence,” Lewandowski told Chris Cuomo on CNN’s New Day.
Ex-New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani said Wednesday that the Clinton campaign and the press were misconstruing Trump’s words.

I think Trump does have his own personal security team in addition to t the Secret Service - bodyguards that he has had from before he ran for POTUS.

The Secret Service protects the Clintons even when they make deals with the Scum of the earth and now Obama’s daughter smoking weed . They protect them but can’t arrest them ?

Well, of course, they did. Anything to keep the lie in the headlines.
Oh, geez, she’s SCREECHING in Iowa. LOUD SCREECHING! Helloooo, she’s holding this neat invention called a microphone so there’s no need to constantly SCREECH.
I would agree that this story is overblown to cover for Hillary, but it’s still news that the Secret Service talked to Trump for these comments. As I said, they appear to not be doing anything, so if they don’t do anything, then obviously they don’t believe if to be a threat. Trump surrogates should connect the dots on that tonight on the cable networks.
We have to know what the media is saying because the reality is that while Trump supporters see the bias, there is a group of independents, undecideds, and RINOs who are watching the MSM.
I have posted articles here that are negative towards Trump with what I see as inaccuracies or untruths, and in comment one have gone through the article countering and repudiating it paragraph by paragraph. I don’t know if it will make a difference, but maybe someone out there will come upon one of those posts who is undecided and see a counter to things the media is saying about Trump.

Before you answer that, ‘Secret’ is in their name.
And they also want Trump to stop his attacks on Boss Hillary so anything he says they are pouncing on. They want Trump to play the roll of McCain and Romney and march to the slaughter house meekly and compliant.
I don’t know if you saw the time he had Sheriff Clark on his show. Let’s just say Sheriff Clark has never been invited back. ;)
