Yup.
See Costco’s chicken. Read the labels.
Be sure. Eat Bacon.
I would like to have it labeled also, and I am a little confused that it is not being labeled. Don’t the Muslims WANT to know if it is halal or not? Weird. I’d never buy it, on principle.
As I understand it, if an item is labelled “kosher”, Muslims may consume it as if it is halal (at least, in the case of military MREs). But if meat is labelled “halal”, then, it is not automatically kosher?
I don’t know.
I always look for the kosher symbol on food when I buy it.
I would think that halal food would be labelled for the simple fact that it would signal to Muslims to buy it, when they might not buy it otherwise. I.e., it would be labelled for the purpose of increasing sales.
Meh, I eat kosher food too. Kosher is always halal as well, since their rules are stricter.
According to the Islamic Food and Nutrition Council of America “Meat and poultry should be processed according to Islamic requirements. This is commonly referred to as Zabiha or Dhabiha. Zabiha refers to slaughtering of an animal or bird by a Muslim according to Islamic requirements.” http://www.ifanca.org/Pages/staticwebpages.aspx?page=whatisHalal
Zabiha/Dhabiha - “The procedure is as follows: the animal must be slaughtered by a Muslim. The animal should be put down on the ground (or held it if it is small) and its throat should be slit with a very sharp knife to make sure that the 3 main blood vessels are cut. While cutting the throat of the animal (without severing it), the person must pronounce the name of Allah or recite a blessing called the Tasmiyya or Shahadah” http://www.eat-halal.com/zabiha/
The animal must be facing Mecca http://www.njconsumeraffairs.gov/ocp/Disclousers/Halal-Disclosure-Slaughterhouse-Cattle-Goats-Sheep-Lambs.pdf
Eat pork.
As if some human blessing a butchered animal has any weight at all.
It’s a wonder some people can feed themselves.
I always insist on halal pork chops.
Eat tortured animal meat -kosher.
Can a Muslim be a ham, or would he have to be a halal radio operator? (73 de KF4MA)
A year ago I read that in the UK there is no such thing as commercially-sold, NON-Halal meat..!
Mammals are inspected for various types of purity regulations, and are ritually slaughtered by a rabbi trained for the purpose, with a knife that must not contain any nicks and must be razor sharp, with one cut across the throat of the animal.
Various types of hechshers, or rabinical certifications are common, most widely that of the Orthodox Union, which is a small U inside a circle, usually located along the bottom right of the package's front.
I’m primarily vegetarian, with the exception of PORK sausage or BACON on a pizza.
Eat more pork.
It does not surprise me one whit. Two times the American voter went to the polls to express their desire on whom they wanted to lead them. They first went to the polls November 4, 2008. And a majority of those that voted demanded, via their votes, that a muslim have the rule over them. The second time the voters of America went to the polls to select someone to lead them was November 6, 2012. Again a majority of those that voted demanded, via their votes, that a muslim have the rule over them. The muslim that currently occupying the White house is merely doing what all muslims do. Extending muslim rule. The people got what they voted for.
Our local supermarket has a small section of “halal” labeled meat/chicken. I will not purchase, just on principle, even if they’re the only item available for my planned meal. I just make something else.
We are in a suburban area of Philadelphia where there is a visibly growing Muslim population, especially as you move closer to the city center (& also a lot of Russians).
The Muslim Brotherhood President has given tons of secret orders about Shariah
I don't get it.
Kosher has nothing to do with blessing. If in fact the animal in found to be (kosher lung inspection - http://www.sealk.org/kosher-meat) No rabbi with no blessing will be able to make it kosher.
