Knowing my mother, I'm certain that she had me listening to earlier political speeches, however I really only remember ( well ) those from the first Ike V. Stevenson and after that ones. That is also the first time that I began to read political bumph and yes, I was VERY young back then.

Anyone with more than 3 working brains cells, after hearing tonight's Trump speech just HAS TO now be a Trump voter! That speech truly was AMAZING!

It is funny you mention your mothers influence. My mother was also very in to politics. I still have her “I like Ike” button!! My strongest early political recollection is John F. Kennedy. I was sitting in class when the announcement was made about the assassination. It was heartbreaking watching the coverage for days. After that tragic event I became more involved in reading and following anything to do with politics.

Trump is quick indeed! He knows the people and he just told everyone straight on what he's all about! He's about US! Ha and Don lemonade is probably having a time of it.

Well they as usual on CNN are splicing and dicing Trump because he's not a DEMOCRAT! That is my opinion.

My beloved mother was a news and politics "junkie". She had me listening to and/or watching news from an extremely young age.

My family was involved in politics for generations, so I grew up listening to the adults discuss politics with each other and also with their friends. I found it fascinating and learned a very great deal.

I started paying avid attention to politics at a very age and when I was 10, was reading the NYC newspapers; especially the Sunday ones, after my parents were finished with them...and NOT just the funnies section; but the news sections.

I raised my progeny the same way.

Sadly, there is SO much that my grandson should NOT hear, on the news now, that this generations old indoctrination can no longer be kept up; however, was both shocked and pleased at just how much he knows, at 10, and flabbergasted to hear that he follows Trump on TWITTER. :^)

Trump mentions that jobs for low income minorities are going to illegals....and, in the back of my mind I’m thinking....they probably don’t give a flip....they get Uncle $ugar checks, illegals and taxpayers do the hard work.....it’s all good. Dope gets smoked, nails get done....it’s all good.

Exactly, why shouldn't they prefer the leisurely life without having to drag on'e butt to work every morning. The blunt fact is, many are incapable of learning skills required in the jobs market. One corporation I worked for 23 years was located on border of ghetto area of Chicago. The outfit was under constant pressure to hire "minorities". The HR department would send these candidates for interview. These job applicants could not answer simple basic trigonometry questions. Very bad situation.
