I’ve been punished for being a troll on other sites, when I was simply disagreeing. It caused me to coin this phrase: “Troll” is the new “racist”.

It’s a bogus slam. The word’s meaning is way too broad as to actually have any meaning.

Another point about “trolling” and people who mistakenly think everyone does it:

A lot of publications & pundits were late getting connected online. They didn’t have FB accounts or Twitter accounts. They’re super-thin-skinned, and when someone disagrees with them, they immediately react with butthurt to the extreme.

They block, ban, delete — and then cry about how “the Internet” has been taken over by “trolls”. I see ppl commenting all the time on how “the trolls” are so bad on this or that media — and the truth is, it’s just ppl disagreeing with the standard (usually liberal).

In some cases tho, it comes from our own side b/c there are plenty of senior citizen pundits who don’t get it.
