On August 17 Psychology Today equated persuading minds to support gun control with persuading minds to support arguments for climate change.

Hmmmm. Perhaps when you've been caught lying too many times, some folks with still functioning brains are reluctant to buy your load of crap.

It would help if there were any scientific evidence that gun ownership and climate change are dangerous.

Hmmm, ‘twould appear that psychologists are at the bottom of med school classes, just as climate “scientists” are at the bottom of elementary school science education classes.

I used to think that Communist Totalitarianism was not possible without government force. That deeming dissenters to be mentally ill and forcing them into psychiatric hospitals, or investing a huge amount of effort to control how people think, was something that would not happen without the state actively making it happen. Today, I’ve come to realize that a certain segment of the population wants to do these things whether the state is forcing them to or not. Hence, we have Psychology Today, an ostensibly “independent” publication, talking about conditioning peoples’ minds to accept gun control as if it was Pravda or one of Goebbels’ propaganda films.

As an addendum, as a physics type, I stand ready to hand these so called psychologists their smelly collective Obamaholes should they wish to talk about the so-called science perped by the climate change clowns.

Either way you are asking people to submit to bondage.

pseudo-scientific fraudulence is more like it.

“or investing a huge amount of effort to control how people think, “ US Government has a relatively new project running out of the White House- The Office Of Behavioral Science, which grew out of the Cass Sundstein (sp?) idea of an Office of Nudge. They are actively using techniques to influence how we think.

And it was Eric Holder who said the path to eliminating firearms was massive propaganda, so that an entire generation would grow up conditioned to flee if the word “gun” was even hinted at.

These people would probably need weeks of therapy had they visited my great uncle’s farmhouse back about 1979, when I used to visit there as a kid and he kept his guns in the living area. I would look at and touch them (under adult supervision, of course) and no eyebrows were raised at all.

Psychologists are not medical doctors, you are thinking of psychiatrists.

“...you are asking people to submit to bondage.” Exactly!

Heard this years ago, along the lines of “whom the gods would destroy they first make mad”: if you really want to mess someone up, a two year gift subscription to Psychology Today should do the trick.

IIRC, the suicide rate for physicians is highest among psychiatrists.

They also need to teach us how to think correctly about homosexuality, abortion, one world government, polygamy, religion as worship not practice, submission to our masters, and a host of other much needed reformations.

I’ve been shooting Guns since I was six years old.

I “owned” a Bolt Action .22 Rifle and a single shot .410 Shotgun when I was eight years old.

I kept them in my closet right next to my older Brother’s collection of Rifles and Pistols, along with the ammunition.

My Parents would have died in Prison for Child Abuse if the Liberals running our Country today were in charge back then.

Empiricism only seems to support these theses if you are looking, as it were, through a keyhole. The big picture does not support them at all.

C. S. Lewis referred to this state of affairs as “the abolition of man.”

In the mid 70s I made a gun rack in high school shop class. Liberals’ heads would explode if they made them today.
