Shooting clubs in the basements of public schools were once common.

Number of genocidal school shootings in that era (to my knowledge): zero.

The APA and AMA are propaganda disseminators.

The Leftist is drawn to centralized organizations: the government, the university, et cetera - anything that will simultaneously allow him to indulge his conceit of superior education and morality, and allow him to exercise control over those he deems less worthy.

One reason we rightists tend to lose the fight in the long run (besides the pervasive truth of the spiritual entropy of original Sin) is that we are mostly in the private sector producing something greater and other than mere propaganda.

Yes.

CSL later delineated it superbly in fictional form in That Hideous Strength.

Lewis truly understood the nature of evil.

“They also need to teach us how to think correctly about homosexuality, abortion, one world government, polygamy, religion as worship not practice, submission to our masters, and a host of other much needed reformations.”

Busy little people, eh? They’d need the cooperation of the schools and networks to get all that done, though.

People finally saw that smoking is not healthy for most people and that those who don't smoke really don't like the stench. Quitting good for you and your family and friends. Hard to stop but it made sense to a lot of smokers.

Global warming? Most people are NOT persuaded. One argument is that even if true, warm is better than cool for most plants and animals. They haven't been affected by GW, either, other than if the EPA destroyed their job or raise prices on some items.

Guns. Good for good guys, bad for bad guys. A recent article mentioned research that CCW people are the most law-abiding people. There are more good guys than bad guys, so it makes a lot of sense for the good guys have guns.

“It’s long past time to bring back cap pistols.” Well, airsoft is pretty popular and that even involves a projectile.

In the late 50’s we lived on Long Island, NY.

My older Brother was in 9th Grade and took his .22 Bolt Action Rifle to School. He was in the Shooting Club.

There was a Gun Range in the Basement at his School.

Nobody blinked an eye when he carried his Rifle walking to School.

Propaganda = advertising.

When you have something that human beings do not naturally, instinctively need or want, you have to resort to Madison Avenue hard sell to get them to buy it.

Propaganda only works on weak minds.

And public education has been weakening minds for over fifty years!

But I don’t think are as popular as cops and robbers or cowboys and indians used to be. It seems to me that cell phones and computer games occupy the young crowd along with texting. Maybe I’m wrong.

re: “persuading minds to support gun control with persuading minds to support arguments for climate change”

As long as there is A human being who thinks it is fun to play the bash the old geezer game, I will refuse a conversation on gun control.

It is Science that states for the record that ONE eruption of A volcano, in one day, emits more greenhouse gases than ALL the human population does in one year. Therefore, the idea that climate change is man-made is a fallacy, and not open for discussion, unless the climate change krewe can make a physical plug to place atop every volcano on Earth.

As of 14:56 CDT, 08/19/2016, there are 6 volcanoes in eruptive phases, today.
(That’s six years worth, just today, for the folks in Rio Linda.)

OK!! Everybody pay attention!

Lesson for today:

1. The sun is 1,300,000 times as big as the earth.

2. The sun is a giant nuclear furnace that controls the climates of all its planets.

3. The earth is one of the sun’s planets.

4. The earth is a speck in comparison to the size of the sun.

5. Inhabitants of the earth are less than specks.

Study Question: How do less-than-specks in congress plan to control the sun?

reading the comments sitting here with a GLOCK 42 +1 on my hip (just so i can get to the AR if necessary) and feel perfectly safe.
i ordered the book from the library. WTH might be good for a laugh (or throwing up).
BTW Jenna Meek’s first book, CALLING THE SHOTS and Kathy Jackson’s THE CORNERED CAT are excellent books for those considering carrying. they lean toward females but good information for everyone. THE CORNERED CAT was the first book i got the day after my ccw license class 30 months ago.

Good references. Both women. Love it! They know they need to take care of themselves when others can’t.
