Gingrich dismisses Clinton health worries: 'That's kind of junk medicine'
The Hill ^ | August 18, 2016 | Rebecca Savransky

Former Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.) on Thursday dismissed recent questions about the health of Hillary Clinton and medical treatments the Democratic presidential nominee is receiving.

"I think we ought to recognize that's kind of junk medicine," Gingrich said on "Fox and Friends." "That's not the real deal."

Newt is talking specifically about Dr. Drew's dissertation that made the news.

Read the interview!

I do agree it would be counter-productive for Trump and other prominent Republicans to make a big deal publicly about it.

But that what guys like Drudge are for. Let them be the ones to plant those seeds.

I used to think Newt was very smart. His Constitutional presentations are the best I’ve ever seen. Then he turns right around and violates those tenets with ease.

By giving those presentations, he proves he knows the material. And then he acts as if a debilitated candidate for Commander in Chief shouldn’t be vetted for the reasoned possibility of brain damage.

The man is either a bumbling fool, or he’s intentionally betraying the Constitution to back our enemies.

While I appreciate your point, these is no excuse for this whatsoever.

I do believe there is a case to be made about Drew’s inarticulate presentation, but the core of his emphasis was dead on target. Hillary has a problem, and that is a potential massive problem for the nation.

So do you beat up Drew for not wording it all correctly, or bumbling the delivery? NO!

This is a serious issue, and an attack on Drew will be seen as nothing other than grounds to drop the issue.

Newt has mic in sight disease.

Once in a while I wish he’d take Nancy Reagan’s advice and “Just Say No”, to the request for a sound byte.

I saw the interview on Fox and Friends. Once again the media is stretching the story.

What he said was that we should all be concerned about Hillary whether we agree with her or not. And the fact that Dr. Drew was making those statements without having the opportunity of a physical exam, as ‘junk medicine’ and we should not take to heart what a TV doctor has to say.

The media is rotten to the core on how they twist these things.

I think that Gingrich is right about this. The whole idea should have been to plant doubt in the minds of voters on HIllary's fitness. Clinton should be perceived as the "flawed" candidate both in integrity and health.

The Trump camp shouldn't pile on too hard. They will be made to look mean and nasty. But "doubt" being sown is a good think, at this point.

Now, any stumble, sneeze, freeze, or funny look will add to the "doubt" factor.

It’s the Bad Newwt that got out of bed this morning. On any given day neither he nor anybody else knows whether the God Newt or the Bad Newt will get out of bed. Indeed, nobody knows which one will appear at any give time during the same day. He may be good as an adviser to President Trump, but he’d be a disaster waiting to happen in any serious executive position.

Her health is important, but not a winning strategy...

As long as the MSM is hiding her issues...

The public will think it’s a VRWC

We are playing into her strategy...

Newt needs to shut up and go away. I’m tired of his advice to Trump and attention whore bomb throwing.

LMAO, yes it’s Hillary’s strategy to fall off steps, go catatonic in the middle of a presentation, and play out in public what her “episodes” in private look like.

Seriously?

Just what should we do about it, not talk about it?

How did that work for Dole, Bush, McCain, and Romney?

This is exactly what they tried to do, not address the problems of their opponents.

Did you learn absolutely nothing from those campaigns?

I think we need to be careful here. The last thing we want is for her to drop out before labor day.

Actually, I fear the Obama reaction if she goes down near the election.

An awful lot of people will find it reasoned if he delays the election because it wouldn’t be fair to hold it.

I agree with most of your post, with some reservations. I think her lack of stamina is fair game and could be mentioned every now and again.

If she has real serious health problems, it will become totally apparent during the rest of the campaign and especially the debates. Focusing on it, rather than her corruption, incompetence, and her horrifying stances is not necessary.

If it becomes talked about constantly and she looks totally normal (even if she is not) during the debates, going after her would be a disaster.

For that reason, I agree with Newt here.

The reports we have heard so far may be speculative, but there is something wrong with her health. That is clearly indicated by her behavior, and by the reactions of her supporters and inner circle. The more dismissive and they are, the more suspect their denials seem.

Gingrich seems to want to not get anyone’s “hopes up” regarding this issue. But, if she actually has either Parkinson’s or some kind of traumatic brain damage, it is hard to imagine her covering it up during what will be the most stressful and demanding campaign season of her life.

Symptoms are symptoms no matter how presented. Many clinics use telecommunications now for remote diagnosis.

I would acknowledge that there is a vulnerability to selective editing when you go out into the cloud and just pick a clip.
