Colin Powell rejected Hillary Clintons assertion to the FBI that he had advised her during a 2009 dinner party to use a personal email account.
General Powell has no recollection of the dinner conversation, the former secretary of states office said in a statement Friday.
He did write Secretary Clinton an email memo describing his use of his personal AOL email account for unclassified messages and how it vastly improved communications within the State Department, his statement said.

I wouldn’t take her word that day is light and night is dark.
What a surprise. Could Hillary have short-circuited?
One is a liar and the other a racist ... or vice versa.
Colon sitting in back or under Hillary’s bus.
Odds are...
Someone in state’s IT division knew Powell had done it, knew how Powell had done it, told Hillary they could set it up, and earned a “promotion”.
Personally, I’ve got no beef if Colon Poowell and Hillary! both go down in flames over the issue.
Dumb ass Powell will probably vote for her anyway.
A pox on both their houses!
Chicken, cow or small.
yepper, my birds fly to heaven and my dog is a cat, just believe what I am saying so I can give ya the clinton shaft!!!

It’s completely irrelevant. He did not set up a private, unsecure e-mail server to conduct all of his business on, including classified communications, like Hillary did, nor did he advise her to do so. He told her that he used a private e-mail for general communications within the department that did not involve sensitive information - and it was with an e-mail on a secure company’s server, AOL. Hillary’s private server set up in her house without security monitoring is a far cry from that - indeed it was said to be even less secure than a free e-mail account you can set up from services like Hotmail or gmail. In addition, he also did not repeatedly lie about it in public statements and apparently while under oath while testifying before a House committee. Yet many in the press are now framing this as though there was an complete equivalence and she is off the hook. There is no similarity whatsoever. Social media has the trending news headline worded like this: “Colin Powell: Former Secretary of State Confirms He Recommended Using Personal E-mail to Hillary Clinton.” That’s not technically false, but the inference someone reading that may draw would certainly be completely false.
