Former Education Secretary Bill Bennett appeared on Fox News Thursday night to praise Donald Trumps speech in North Carolina which included an expression of regret for saying hurtful things during the past campaign year.
When asked what groups Trump needs to reach to win the election in November, Bennett singled out one particular group he thinks Trump should not waste his time on:
He does not need to speak to the Never Trumpers, some of my friends or maybe former friends who suffer from a terrible case of moral superiority and put their own vanity and taste above the interest of the country.

A certain Cubanadian comes to mind......
When was the last time Levin admitted he was ‘wrong’ about anything... NEVER... When did the national review ever retract some hyperbole about anything they put in writing. NEVER... THESE people are leeches and have produced not one thing of value except to feather their own nests. Worthless.
Saw this. It was an excellent interview.
yep and you all continually harping on it is going to bring everyone around,....... isn’t it?
I always liked Bill Bennett...
I remember when he said, “A neocon is a liberal who has been mugged by reality...”
Again a liberal projection.. some one else is the blame for the Bell curvers idiocy. The turkeys have a history of pontificating they know the way when what they have in fact done has landed we that 'believed' in the proverbial ditch. They need a wake up call or else circle the drain of irrelevance. They are being given the opportunity to see the error of their ways... But just like YOU, I have no expectations of conversion or recognition they are on the wrong path.
Isn’t Bennett’s point that you *can’t* bring NeverTrumps around?
Exactly right. Good job by Bennett for working that into the conversation.
I agree with you Never-Trumpers are using “pure conservative” posing as a tribal badge — so they can associate only with elite/correct-thinking others. This Never-Trumper clan has more in common with the Democrap Progressive clan than with the tax-paying, long-suffering folk who are coalescing around Trump’s populist/realist message.
Nothing is going to bring Ted around, God told him he was going to be President.
His fans, if he has any, should think for themselves.
Hillary ?
or Trump
Easy to figure out
Bennett: “Former friends”. I think he gets it. Vanity ahead of country. Jebberino, this means you! Kristol is psycho. Will is in denial and needs a 12 step program. Lindsey needs to be serviced, Ted needs a reality check. Kasich .. Just shut up... NRO gang needs group therapy.
Self righteous, Holier than thou types...
Neocon bump for later.....
Bennett is right about them. They are the same as the Republican Establishment who wouldn’t support the Tea Party candidates once they won the primaries.
Trump says Brent Bozzell once asked him for money, but turned his down.
Mark Levin’s future son-in-law worked for Ted Cruz, then Roger Stone wrote an article mentioning The Senate Conservatives Fund (PAC) purchasing massive quantities ($400,000) of Mark Levins books in exchange for favorable candidacy political opinion. Conveniently hidden by the radio host who avoids mentioning the financial conflict created, the blog pointed out.” I don’t know why Levin blames Trump for this article, and he had just said NeverTrumpers are wrong a day or two before.
Their “moral superiority,” is as phony as is there “Conservatism.”

That's the ticket! Make the Never Trumpers pariahs for life.
“The first standard of conservatism is taking personal individual responsibility”
Great point. Part of taking responsibility is keeping promises, like the pledges many of them signed during the debates. Weaseling on that mega promise removes any speck of decency and conservatism from them.
