‘I’m sure Bennett didn’t back Trump early in the primary season, but he is putting country first and putting his own vanity aside.’
The whole post was great, but the two lines really sum it up. It all comes down to patriotism, doesn’t it? The NeverTrumps would be willing to burn it down, simply to satisfy their Trump hatred.
Patriots, meanwhile, despite many of them having preferred a different candidate, have coalesced behind Trump. Why? Because they recognize that Hillary can’t be let anywhere near the “levers of power,” as she likes to call them. Patriots know the country could not survive her.
Again, very good post; thanks.
When did Bill Bennett get common sense?
I’m impressed.
Lindsey needs to be serviced...
I think I saw that once purely by accident. Damn Google searches.
By being so self-righteous and holier than thou they’re actually betraying conservatism and the country because their “success” will elect the Witch, who will destroy eveything conservatism sands for. They’re a worthless, evil, traitorous bunch of scum.
Thanks!
You are quite welcome! :)
You will have to answer your own insufferable question. It is above my intellect.
Bennett is right. These mental midgets have serious mental issues like Romney, Cruz, Beck, Kasich and more pure trash. How these types that include Linda Graham could pull this bull is sickening.
Yeah, the “true conservative” who could not be expected to honor either Article II Section 1 Clause 5 or the RNC candidate’s oath to support the eventual Republican nominee for 2016: a real man of honor.
Many (most?) of the "NeverTrumpers" don't oppose Trump because of morality or ideology. They oppose him because they are currying favor with the donors, who are terrified that, in a Trump administration, it will be harder to buy access and favors.
Follow the money.
“Whos more insufferable, the ‘morally superior’ or those who are being ‘morally superior’ about the ‘morally superior’?”
I’m glad you asked; here’s your answer:
It’s indubitably the former, because the primaries are over and Donald Trump won fairly and squarely (and even set voting records thereby), and because those people are the very ones who ruthlessly coerced - or applauded those who coerced - Donald Trump into taking an oath that they have since themselves literally (Ted Cruz) or virtually (the establishment creatures: representatives, donors, pundits, advisers) violated.
Hypocrisy, thy name is #NeverTrump.
“Conservative Orthodoxy has been thoroughly discredited like the filthy whore she is.
And Ted Cruz is her champion.”
Yeah, they’re what I call Cookie-Cutter Conservatives:
They do not seek to conserve our national sovereignty, or the expressed will of We The People, but rather to conserve their elitist group of insiders and exploiters.
They are partisans, not patriots.
I agree with you Never-Trumpers are using pure conservative posing as a tribal badge so they can associate only with elite/correct-thinking others. This Never-Trumper clan has more in common with the Democrap Progressive clan than with the tax-paying, long-suffering folk who are coalescing around Trumps populist/realist message.
Exactly. And notice the never Trump and GOPe crowd are now openly attacking those who oppose them as “racist.” It doesn’t get any more progressive than that.
The Senate Conservatives Fund (PAC) purchasing massive quantities ($400,000) of Mark Levins books in exchange for favorable candidacy political opinion.
That was a blatant pay for play payola scam. Those were years old books they were buying directly from Levin’s publisher. Political hardcover books that old are worthless basically.
Thanks for the compliment, Fantasywriter!
Conservatism without Patriotism is perfect analogous to Faith without Works.
Which begs the question: have these NeverTrumpers always put themselves before the interest of the country?
You’re welcome. It really was a great post, and a true pleasure to read.
The inability to ever admit being wrong is a primary hallmark of progressives, liberals, socialists, et al.
Trump admitting his errors is good — it means he listens, learns and changes. That’s an ability sorely lacking among GOPe and proggies, and it is their primary fail mode.
