I shot expert with the M16A1E1 three times in the Corps. But I don't own one now.
I'm thinking my next purchase will be something a little newer than my Mosin in a bolt action that can easily accept some decent glass.

You can find AR 15’s for $599 if you search gun dealers in other states running sales. I saw discounts of $289 and $325 on AR 15’s from a dealer in AL. I have bought from this dealer and paid 50 bucks to transfer the weapon to an in state dealer.
