I was in the 1989 Loma Prieta quake (6.9) in Palo Alto at SRC for a meeting. Very scary and lots of damage, but this one with a 6.2 magnitude cause significant havoc. I can only conclude the construction of the buildings accounted for the difference here.

Too bad that Sunken Civ is no longer putting out CATASTROPHISM reports and a lot more at FR would be knowing about this. Perhaps some who know who is on that list can forward this information.
