We are NOT "Alt-right"
Vanity | Pietro

Posted on 08/26/2016 7:14:09 AM PDT by Pietro

Freepers, we should not allow ourselves to be labeled w/ this recently coined phrase-its a trap!

We are Americans. Period.

The msm slimes will use this label to try and tie us to the most vile and despicable elements out there.

Reject it immediately.

A google news search shows it getting only 151,000 hits. That’s not many, so it, too, indicates something new.

If I'm not mistaken, searching for it on google is kind of missing the point....

According to Wikipedia, if you’re a FReeper, then you are.

Which was the point you were (trying) to make.

Exactly. This is why I tend to advocate for the sort of highly-selective oligarchic republicanism that would reject and seek to suppress democratisation. Democracy is the great enemy.

Let’s keep in mind that another theme in neoreaction (a subset of the “alt Right”), drawn from Spengler, is the return to religion, the “second religiousness” written about by Spengler which involves a restoration of the spiritual roots of a civilisation after it has had its turn at rejecting its traditional religion and floating adrift in decadence for decades or centuries.

First you crab about it being a nothing burger that only fools buy into, then you act like "yunguns" think they discovered the wheel.

So which is it?

Both.

The big split in political philosophy is the one between John Locke and Jean Jacque Rousseau. Locke believed that men had to be free in order to better serve their God, and Rousseau believed men had to be free of God. Locke believed that freedom meant free of arbitrary coercion by other men. Rousseau believed in the Will of the People.

As it turns out, Rousseau has won the argument almost everywhere in the world. Locke only has a remnant left in this country, and they hang on by the skin of their teeth and fingernails.

And then they are blamed because, remnant that they are, they could not accomplish more than they have accomplished in building the most free society on earth, against all odds and with absolutely no help from the majority.

That’s why a good preacher is worth more than fifty bureaucrats and politicians. Five hundred. Five thousand.

We can always re-word things.

e.g. I often refer to he-who-shall-not-be-named as the ‘current occupant at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue’. I dont mention his name in mixed company since I have to spit after each time I say it.

As long as you don’t become what they’re calling you, everything should be fine.

I suggest we embrace the label and say we’re ALT RIGHT AND PROUD OF IT, TOO!!!

Then the left will immediately stop using it.

the point?

Really?

We shouldn't allow our enemies to label us.

I use labels everyday; I stick them on fiber optic cable and Cat6 faceplates, ie inanimate objects. One shouldn't stick labels on people.

Our mutual enemies want to label us and will use their tools in the media to change that label into something that you will not recognize and then, like now, you'll be forced into a rearguard fight designed to distract.

If you like the label "alt-right" you're welcome to it; but I want nothing to do w/ it.

Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.

Target: Trump & supporters

Freeze it: Brand the target, give it a name (”alt right”)

Personalize it: racists, extremists, “dark ideology”, etc.

Polarize it: denigrate

Clinton injected “alt right” into public discussion. The term seems to be a creation of SPLC https://www.splcenter.org/fighting-hate/extremist-files/ideology/alternative-right

...and yet again we cower to the “frame the narrative” of the left.

The fact that the alt-right is twisting their panties this way means we should not distance ourselves from it. FREE SPEECH and anti-PC voices have had enough of the BS that is the progressive left. The result is the alt-right.

This is a war of minds. The alt-right has touched a nerve, press it harder and don’t back down. Any time the left sees a threat it is just labeled “racist”, it is all they know. I’m tired of allowing them to define and stereotype everyone they disagree with.

Due to this, I don’t agree with this sentiment.

Apparently, it's been out there, but media matters and the Daily Kos picked it up a couple of weeks ago.

So. We have NAZI Soros out there pimping his projected Aryan views on others. Again.

I think you're kinda missing the whole "cause/effect" thing.

As far as I can tell, one of the things about the "alt-right" is they don't particularly CARE what their opponents call them. They call them things because they are OPPONENTS!

"highly-selective oligarchic republicanism that would reject and seek to suppress democratization"

Then you must be quite delighted w/ what we have right now.

The remainder of your post only reinforces my initial rejection of the term.

A "second religiousness"? For God's sake man do you realize the destruction you are advocating?
