Sunday on CNN’s “Inside Politics,” while discussing reports that the State Department will not be release the detailed daily meeting schedules of Hillary Clinton during her tenure as secretary of state, until after the November election, host John King said it was “nuts.”

You get 20 people in a room. Give them two or three hours.
Job done.
You can knock off most weekends, most holidays, and most travel days. That’s got to be 20% of the days.
The problem is these people think what they are doing with their time is important. Probably 1/10th of it is.

Actually, these schedules should be released weekly. We should never have to sue to see what our public servants are doing.
This obsession with secrecy only encourages and protects corruption.
With the exception of the Defense Department, there are very few government activities that should be classified. And even then, it should be rare.
