I call them corn whores.
Either ethanol as a viable substitute or additive is economically feasible, or it is not. There is no middle ground here. We have had ethanol subsides for YEARS and all that crap does to engines is rot seals, hoses and gaskets; corrodes metals in older engines; RUINS O2 sensors and ADDS expense to gasoline we are FORCED to put in our cars and trucks.
Corn Whores.
Iowa...the yellow state.
I'm stealing that. Perfect description.
Senator Pat Toomey started a campaign against ethanol. Seems to have died out. I am as passionately against ethanol as you sound to be. Also, being a prepper, it has no shelf life.
These studies continue not to incorporate in their numbers the fact that the corn used to produce ethanol is not depleted, but is ADDITIONALLY used as feed for livestock. So, it does double duty, and that fact is not incorporated in these studies.
The stuff is real crap. I use a product called Startron in my vehicles that helps to mitigate the effects of ethanol on the fuel systems. I add a couple of gallons of 100 LL avgas per fill up in my 67 GTO.
