It is not the first time the church has stood in opposition to actual science, nor will it be the last.
Or, at best, misunderstood where science stood in the picture.
To say that things have never been measured hotter on earth since the thermometer was invented, is a pretty pitiful reason for panicking.
Science is the search for truth. When scientists fail to apprehend the truth and therefore fail in their profession, the Church (not necessarily the likes of Frankie) will stand with God and His truth. Its who we are. Its what we do!
