And the pledge of allegiance was written by a socialist, should we stop saying that too?
Just go flip a burger and shaddup
If someone wants to throw rocks at Labor Day for being "socialist" they should at least wait until the jobs that have been exported during the past thirty years come back to the US. Otherwise they just look like a Myna Bird that repeats the word "Socialist" for the Hell of it.
well, the socialism eventually resulted in pushing the jobs outside of the usa, to get out from under it.
It’s always important to know the true history of any subject.
Knowing the origins of Labor Day and the pledge of allegiance will not interfere with my family celebrating the blessing of work and those who do honest toil, or honoring the symbol of our Nation and her citizens.
Wisdom requires that we seek underlying motives and ascertain their effects. But we can also remind ourselves that sometimes what others meant for evil, God uses for good.
At least we don’t celebrate May Day.
Yet....
I agree.
The labor movement accomplished some very good things in the late 19th century and early 20th. That the good turned into evil is the way of the world. I still celebrate Labor Day because America, despite Obama, is an industrious country filled with hardworking people.
The Soviets also had a labor day, that was the day
you labored for the State for nothing.
It’s past time to think up a new name for the first Monday in September.
Socialism is the boogieman used to sell the programs and put out front for the upset folks to attack, but all the programs go seventy percent or more to the government and/or to their pals in "free enterprise" like the wind power crowd and the ethanol gang.
Focus on what consumes the vast majority of the money rather than the excuse used for why those scams are in place and you may accomplish something. Keep focusing on what may be overreactions to real problems and you get nowhere which is, just where we've gotten by feeding the Myna Birds yelling, "Socialism".
Proof of that fact is that as soon as someone like Trump threatens to overturn the pig trough in DC you find "solid anti-socialists" like Levin running the NeverTrump crusade.

And so we, a nation made both the greatest and wealthiest in all of history through the free-market principles of capitalism...
We are currently losing our middle class again to unethical and turn coat corporate globalism. The same ole unethical capitalists, detached from the ideals of freedom are on high. They need to be knee capped again. Start with Target, Facebook and Google. They like to play politics, after all.

Yet.
We have Earth Day...not yet a national holiday which celebrates Vlad Lenin's birthday, but they would do it if they thought they could get away with it.
In all fairness, it has been proven that the display of the US flag causes feelings of patriotism among most Americans, and these feelings can last for two weeks.
And patriotic feelings reflect entirely on Republicans and conservatives, *not at all* to Democrats and leftists.
So every person here needs to display the flag more and more in the lead up to the elections. And it is a great “protest” of sorts against the “leftist holiday” of Labor Day.
As a personal observation, leftists are behaving more and more like vampires when they see the Christian cross displayed, when they see the flag, or the Christian cross displayed.
They shun it, and at least now, in a small way, it causes them self induced discomfort.
So wave the flag in their faces, and proudly display signs of your faith.
But remember, if they think they can get away with it, they will try to tear down the flag or the cross. So plan accordingly.
I say that to you.
Myna Birds repeat what’s said to them, so it figures.
Oh, that was cerebral, witty, and clever.
Why don’t YOU look at the facts... the more socialist the US has gotten, the less friendly it has been to domestic production (farming, its pet child, perhaps excepted).
