If only there were some way to blame Republicans, the media would be hammering the public with hysteria over the escalating carnage in Chicago. President Obama’s adopted hometown has become a national embarrassment. It stands alone among major cities in escalating into war zone level casualties.

Nine men were killed and at least 22 other people were wounded in separate shootings over a 21-hour period Monday morning into Tuesday morning, Chicago police said.

Guns are legal in Chicago. Owner, and for that matter, anyone possessing them, must have a FOID card. That was taken care of by McDonald vs Chicago case.
The crimes beind tallied are by people without FOID cards. How do I know this? Because the media here in Chicago finds it a front page / top of the “A” block story when someone LEGALLY armed does something untoward with a firearm.

The war zone analogy is appropriate for this, not into averaged numbers for Vietnam. We used to live in Lake county, I am happy now in the middle of nowhere. Things there are going to get much worse.

Chicago had more murders in the late 60s & 70s than now. Heyjackass.com shows the deadliest neighborhoods, and all of us who grew up there see that nothing, absolutely nothing, has changed. If you stay out of those neighborhoods you’re as safe in Chicago as any city. I moved away 30 years ago to a better way of life in the country.
Went down to chirac from boot camp at GLNTC. Didn’t care for it. Next leave we went to Milwaukee. Guess it’s changed a lot in 49 years too.
These guys need more range time to shoot straighter. Can’t we get a Federal Grant or something?
