I will give them the benefit of the doubt, since NONE OF US KNOW what they are actually going to do.

“”That’s more heartening to me than anything is the veterans that have reached out and said that’s what they fought for, that’s what they sacrificed their lives for, is to give people back home under the flag, under this country, the opportunity to stand up or sit for what they believe in.””

PULLLEEEZ!

DEAD veterans have reached out to you?

What a FOOL!

Your team will be committing mass suicide if you do this. I hope you do.

These people should realize that it is not a good idea to bite the hand that feeds them.

A better story is that the coach of the Green Bay Packers (Mike McCarthy) and the ENTIRE team have donated $100,000.00 EACH to the Green Bay Police Foundation.

That’s why we love them.

They don’t deserve the benefit of the doubt. They are Seattle and bear the stain that gives them no right to doubt

Another reason for me to loathe Pete Carroll and the Seahawks.

Most people would be fired for such a protest on the job, especially if it's a large corporation. That's not for us peasants to do. Only the media is allowed to protest on the job.

Only trained professionals should be protesting since you can't be trusted with your opinions. /s

True that. I even heard Tom Brady is going to sit out the first four games.

Couldn’t help it, sorry!

Bumping only to be able to find this thread on Sunday. I suggest everyone read these. And yes, I’m a HAWKS fan.

If I can get it in my area, I might turn on the Seahawks game just so I can see if they do so. That would probably raise their ratings.

However, if they do not stand, I will turn the channel. Hope somehow millions of others do, too. Would this then lower their ratings? I hope that can be measured somehow.

For the HS players who knelt, if I were the coach I would leave them on the sideline the entire game.

If questioned, I’d say “Oh, I didn’t see you. I was looking for the team players who stand together.”

” guess, of course it’s the owner’s decision. But my view is ‘Protest on your own time, not on mine! I’m paying you to play football not make political statements’!”

You are correct. It’s why the owners are a part of this whether or not they want to be whether or not they believe it

They must either denounce it ir go on record as agreeing

The US is a country of WE THE PEOPLE. So if you choose to not honor the flag with the National Anthem then you are showing contempt for your fellow Americans…and fans.

I’m not sure how that works. It probably takes a long time to tell just what the ratings are doing? I think they get the most money from TV contracts anyhow.

I guess my point is that yes the extra publicity might increase interest while your average casual fan might not care too much about kneeling/standing during the anthem or whatever. I tend to think there are probably very very few controversies the NFL really doesn’t want to be talked about in the news cycle. They probably figure most publicity is good publicity except maybe brain injury over time and PEDs.

How cool would it be, if the team sits during the anthem, the entire stadium files out after the anthem ends.

The cowardly leadership of the NFL is encouraging this, by even allowing this.

No matter. Under Goodell’s leadership, the NFL will be gone in 10 years as he caves under the concussion lawsuits, and the unrelenting political correctness that pervades the NFL now, and the stadiums will be used for soccer or something else.

Football is manly, competitive, and brutal.

We cannot, under any circumstance, allow such instincts to be promulgated in the New Amerika.

Think also what 9/11/16 really is.

Anyone who sits during the anthem on this special is not an American, in my book

Pack ‘em in, Americans. Who cares if your dissed? Bring an American flag out and stomp all over it. Our tailgate parties must not be disrupted!

DAMNED IDIOTS!

This an other bad behavior by the NFL and its players plus the "gay pride appreciation" night by the Seattle Mariners recently has finally had me cut my cable TV. I'm done watching these children misbehave or support "causes" I find perverted and deviant.

Good riddance!
