Ted signed the agreement BEFORE Trump started calling Lyin’ Ted hundreds of times. Personally I believe Trump could have won without all the name calling.

We shouldn’t blame Cruz for being bitter. He fought a good fight and simply came up short.

Cruz has been a good effective conservative voice in the Senate. And barring a promotion to the SCOTUS we should keep him there for many years.

I will be voting against Cruz when he is up for re-election in two years.

“We shouldn’t blame Cruz for being bitter”

You’re right, we should blame him for running knowing he was not a natural born citizen. You cannot love this country and its constitution while running for POTUS when ineligible.

I can’t see myself voting in 2018 to re-nominate TCruz unless he is in a runoff with George P. Bush. Then again, George P. has endorsed Trump. Strange outcome possible

I don’t blame Cruz for being bitter. I don’t blame him for loathing Trump. Politics is a rough sport but there are (or should be) limits. Things were said that it would take a saint to let pass.

What I DO blame him for, is accepting an invitation to speak at his party’s national convention, on prime time TV, and then pointedly dissing the candidate of his party. If he had kept his mouth shut and stayed away from the convention I really doubt many people would have held it against him. But what he did AT THE CONVENTION was a deliberate and calculated act of political treachery. If was damned dishonorable.

I say this as someone who is not a Trump fan and who has tried to stay clear of the Trump related threads out of deference to JimRobs request that people who could not get on board with Donald keep their mouths shut or go elsewhere until after the election. But if Ted Cruz were on fire, I wouldn’t piss on him.

You will get flamed for voicing any support for Cruz here on FR.
That is a pity because he was the only disciplined conservative in the senate for a few years.
Is Ted perfect?
NO.
Is perfect required?
Apparently.
Talk to me about that a year from now...three years from now...

Great post. Thank you. I hate the Cruz bashing on here. I am 1000% on board for Trump after being for Cruz during the primary. Cruz has fought for conservative principles. Is he perfect? No. But no candidate is perfect. As evidenced in this adticle, he is trying to do the right thing. Prayerfully, we will all try to do the right thing. Please stop bashing him

I think hundreds of times is a slight exaggeration...Was there a “Be Nice” clause in the pledge?

Are you supporting Ted Cruz reneging on his contractual agreement with RNC to support the Nominee and his silence regarding Hillary?

Would be nice if Cruz, Bush and Graham would get behind the nominee—or maybe they want Hillary.

I’m not even in Texas and I already have a donation reserved for whoever can establish himself as most likely to take Cruz out.

And I’ll donate again to a Democrat in the general again to make that happen, if necessary.

You simply can’t take a traitor back into your camp - it’s suicide.

Yes, name calling is a good reason for breaking a written legal document.

It's an accepted moral and legal 'escape' clause.
